1. Another one for the cartel of uselessness. Direct Courier Solutions. I booked a collection from my work, they said collection would take place between 9-30am and 5-30pm. After staying at work til 6 (should finish 3-4pm) the status still showed that they would be that day. Nope, it wasn't until 9-30am the following day until I got hold of them, needless to say they weren't very apologetic and reminded me that things don't always go to plan. At least I got a full refund. They also offered up to £1k insurance for a measly £6 although how smooth the claiming process would be is anyone's guess. My experience has put me off anyway. I use parcelforce normally and as yet, haven't had an issue.
2. Yeah, I kinda assumed that. It's not snug on the control plate. I've ordered a tort guard anyway as it's my favourite combo. I have a gotoh 203 coming aswell.
3. Evening, I've just purchased the bass pictured below, it's loverlee! The seller didn't know the exact model however, can any of you experts shed light? I know it's Mexican and from 07/08 but haven't seen that guard much so curious.

Here she is. It's the same set up as a passive jazz. VVT.
6. Graham bought some strings from myself, top man to do business with. Thanks again.
7. Saw these and was tempted by the neck through but if it had straightness issues, it would just be a plank. I'd rather go for a bolt on. Looks nice though. That acoustics spec looks impressive.

Giving much thought to trading my Jb2 tribute. It's the translucent sunburst with maple board baby. I've only had it a few months (so mint) but after recently taking an ibby sr600 in a trade, I'm kinda moving towards actives again. I'm open to trade offers (via courier most likely as I'm in Aberdeen) and have a few beer tokens I can let go. Anything considered. I might regret moving it on as it's the best jazz I've played to date, that's why it's just a feeler at this juncture. I'll get some pics sorted out once I get on the big computer.
9. +1 for the bass attack. Doubles up as my back up case my amp poops it pants too, just DI into the desk. Saves carrying a spare.

Feedback for ikay

Ian purchased a mic from my bad self. Everything was as smooth as a babies a**e. Would deal with him again. Thanks again.
11.
Undamaged strings, cleaned properly and regularly, usually last for years and years with little change in performance. I think many bass players like that new 'sproingy' sound, and also change them just cos they fancy a new set of strings rather than they NEED them.
New favourite word, sproingy! That's the sound I hate though! Chrome flats after around 8 weeks sound best to me. A clean every couple months and they just get better.
12. We use karaoke version, never for vocals though. Its Ok for just plucking out keys or brass. If it's really bad, we tend to lay it down ourselves, but that can actually be worse depending on who does it. I do like the idea of using a bass track and looking like I'm a rock star sometimes, instead of ye olde deathly stare at the fretboard
13. Mark and I traded basses, his Ibanez for my G&L. Couldn't have went any smoother. Prompt communication, and posting. Bass was incredibly well packed and in the condition stated. Delighted. Top man and a really nice guy.
14. Ah, good to know. Thanks. If it's a bag of s**t, it'll literally be decoration for my practice room. I'll come back with my assessment in due course.
15. I've just taken a punt on the natural b30. Think they went up at around 1am. Yes I did set my alarm There is a photo of the b30 that appears to show a fracture on the heel, I have access to cnc machines so could make a plate if it's unstable. Guess it's just a case of assessing it. Also states that it's unreturnable, but for £43 with postage from Germany, it's surely worth it, for curiosity as much as anything.
16. Spotted the flying v when I got up for a whizz. £25. If nothing else, it would've looked good on the wall.
17. Sorry, just sold. Thanks for the interest.
18. Had a Shure SM58 sitting around for ages, I have a battered box but the leather case is long gone, comes with a few clips and stuff. Forty quid posted.
19. Set of nickel round wound exl160's 105, 85, 70,50 came as twin pack but one set used, box tatty but plastic wrapper sealed. £10 posted.
20. Twas in vein this morning, at least I had longer to negotiate the snow.
21. I am tempted by the black acoustic but I'm on early shift next week and my alarm goes off at 4am, normally, perhaps 3-45am this week would be bearable.....
22. Someone buy this thing, best money I ever spent was on one of these. Get loads of compliments about the sound. I actually use the hartke bass attack preamp which gives me some drive and mid control, and acts as my back up but probably don't need one, the amps a bloody tank.
23. P/ex pending.
24. Merry Christmas, price reduction type bump. Jingle jingle.
