1. That Sharay clip blows me away everytime ! well i would find it very hard to narrow it down to a favourite but just cos i'm feeling jazzy this morning ...this http://youtu.be/yI-1sq5dFD4
2. I think the 5501 is a great bass and especially as its half the price of the 5502 stingrays aren't for me they are too punchy and aggressive for my taste.
3. If a transfer for the full amount is not made to you by monday then go to the police and i dont think you should accept part payment as that might constitute you entering into a contract with him whereby the police cant do a lot about the fraud. ...good luck i hope you get some sort of result soon.
4. Trades ?
5. I think it's sold ..if it was a USA one then it was definitely a steal !
6. I've played dub/reggae for more than 30 years now ,it was the reason I picked up the bass ,I have not tired of listening or playing it one bit and although I love playing all sorts of stuff it always feels like coming home when I'm back to those big fat b lines 😊...although it's always been the jazz for me in the last year I've been using and loving the p too with my reggae band ,a very slight eq scoop and a touch of tone does it for me .My current fave being a lovely fender pj (courtesy of Raslee 😊) ...in the studio I still often reach for the jazz though especially on modern kinda stuff here's something I played on a couple weeks ago it's a dubby trancey thing Listen to Still Waters Run Deep by The Soul Sound Collective #np on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/soulsoundcollective/still-waters-run-deep
7. Looks lovely to me
8. Alternatively if you really have no rhythm have you thought of guitar instead
9. I bought one of these new a few months ago after trying one in the shop , i had no intention of buying another bass as i have to many but the weight ,playability , super fast neck and versatility sold me, and i hope to have soon recouped the money due to less visits to the chiropractor ..this is my number one gigging bass at the moment ...someone is in for a treat !
10. Nice one have a good gig George Anderson is a great bassist ..
11.
I did think the 60 seconds limit would encourage people to have a listen as its not to much effort. Even spread over a few days during voting its even easier. Think this is the lowest turnout of entries to date . Of course no one has to enter etc but it really is a bit of fun and takes very little time. And the sheer thrill to know you might get voted by the bass playing public as the best noodler for a month should inspire. Alas know one is reading this. Im getting the feeling one should fall upon the sword with the noodle bar. I did try to get a little more forum participation going. Maybe a rule tweak could gain a few more entries? Bribery?
It is a shame more people dont join in ,i think its a great idea and its so easy to stick your phone in front of amp whilst practicing ...for me i dont get the chance to get in the studio and do something for the composition challenge but i can always capture a noodle when practicing...i must admit i didnt know what the noodle bar was until the last few months ...
12. Try as many as possible and work out if you want active or passive ,i have a sire v7 ,a fender jazz with j retro pre ,and squier vm jazz ,and would recommend all plus another to try would be the Cort gb74 which is very jazz like and any other Cort bass is well worth a try .
13. I use the HD681's in the studio and think there great ..i have tested how they sound compared to other far pricier offerings and prefered them to be honest I realize that the beyer high ohm closed back monitor headphones are supposed to show every detail up but i agree sometimes i just think they sound sh*t and dont really see the point of listening to to the mix in a way which you never would a finished mastered track.
14. I prefer flats when there a year or more old ,i dont really like them fresh older the better for me on old RNB,soul blues and reggae ,and i like new d'adarrio rounds on modern funk and fusion stuff.
15.
British. American's clearly misunderstood the concept of pants when the Mayflower landed.
That would explain them having there fanny's arse about face !
16. No i'm sparticus !
17. What about this one..i thought it was lovely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HvpIgHBSdo
18. Well that wasnt easy deciding ,well done all great stuff !
19. It was Wayne Shorters 'Footprints' that i was taking liberty's with rather than the Beatles who may well have 'borrowed' from it
20. Can ya ..damn I just done this naked ! Listen to Noodle prints by Timothy Terrence IV #np on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/timothy-terrence-higgins-iv/noodle-prints
21.
I'd say that was only pull-offs...... for the most part. Forget me Nots, whole different thing technically, IMO Just sayin'
. Its a mixture of slap pops and fingerstyle ,and I guess it is technically easier than forget me nots but the feel is what it's about for me.
22. I would suggest starting with slower melodic groove based things like 'forget me nots' Patrice Rushen or something like this Azymuth [which made me want to learn to slap ] tune before moving onto fast percussive patterns that can take a lot of learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Dx_Iq0c1A
23. I have some long scale Ernie ball flats on my bronco and the E string was to fat to get in the hole in tuning peg but i managed to get it to hold by just hooking it in gap and winding around as normal ,once a few turns have gripped its fine ,holds tuning and plays nicely ... i would say just dont cut strings to short .
24. Cheers Bubinga 😊
