  1. I’m in Chester. If anyone wanted it collecting and then meet up - for a bit of diesel money - then I could help out........within reason..... I have a van too!
  2. Now includes sturdy flight case so it can be safely shipped anywhere.
  3. As for the DPDT as a series / parallel switch well it’s got me beaten.....
  4. This is what I have using the existing pull / push volume control as an active / passive bypass...
  5. Must stop using stumped - it’s coz the cricket is on.....
  6. I’ve decided that I’d prefer the DPDT to use both coils as if they’re there I may as well use them so have abandoned my active / passive bypass use. That also means I’m stumped.
  7. Nope. That’s got me totally confused. The way the DPDT is used is totally different between the active / passive diagram (MM3 diagram 3) and the Kent diagram for using the DPDT as series / parallel switch. I must be nearly there but I just can’t fathom it. For instance I’ve lost the switch cable in my diagram and can’t decide between preamp in and out relating to the DPDT switch.😗😗😗
  8. Thanks for that. I’ve got those diagrams but combining the wiring for type 1 DPDT (figure 1a) with the 3rd diagram on the MM3 wiring is doing me in. Ive sketched out a diagram using a push pull volume pot as an active bypass but now trying to sketch out using it as a DPDT series / parallel switch is what has stumped me.....
  9. My head hurts now. I maybe need to keep it simple.... Ive got different diagrams all confusing me now.....brain fuzz....
  10. Thanks for that. Could I use a DPDT switch to use the humbucking capability so I can have parallel / series switching? I’m starting to understand but I have to draw it at least 5 times before I get it.....and I know - all I’m doing is connecting a TRS jack, a battery clip and a volume control. It’s pathetic but my brain starts to go fuzzy..... Thanks
  11. Hello out there. I’ve got a bass with a Kent Armstrong soap bar pick up with white, green, black, red and shielding in its loom. I bought a KSBT 2 band preamp prewired with bass and treble pots so all I have to do is add a volume, battery clip and stereo output. Thing is it came with no wiring instructions so here’s hoping someone out there has used one and knows how to wire in one of the KA soap bar pickups. The wires on the preamp are input, ground, switch (which I don’t need), output, +9v. Sounds easy but I’m bamboozled..... Help please
  12. I was in Nottingham today and was going to buy that just for the case! Absolute bargain......
  13. Yep. Have sent you a PM.
  14. Thanks John. It’s the same neck but the previous owner changed the tuners. Not sure what to though. I just put the serial number in the Fender dating website (not a lonely hearts club) and got 2006-10..... Weird. I’ll change I anyway. Thanks,
  15. Up for sale or trade with cash my way is my 2009-10 US Fender Precision Highway 1 in nitrocellulose black with smooth satin maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and black pickguard. It has a badass 2 bridge as standard but has EMG Geezer Butler solderless pickups fitted for extra growl. It also has the original pickups with it. It came with chips and dings so has been refinished in its original colour of nitro gloss black. It’s also had a fret level, crown & polish, lemon oil fretboard treatment and has a new set of rotosound round nickel 45-105s. The relief, action and intonation have all been set. The neck has been shimmed to get the action super low and now the bass looks, plays and sounds fantastic. It has no dings anywhere and only has one imperfection - it has had different tuners at one point so has extra screw holes in the back of the headstock. It’s nice and light at just under 4kg and measures 41.5mm at the nut. It’s a very playable P bass neck especially with the satin neck finish. If I was still gigging, this would be my main bass - it is superb. I can ship it anywhere, can deliver or meet up within 75 miles of Chester.
  16. Up for sale is my superb 1999-2002 Crafted in Japan Fender Precision PB62 1962 reissue in a beautifully aged white body, nicely aged maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. It’s got virtually no fret wear, plays and sounds wonderful and is currently strung with new 45-105 rotosounds. There are one or two small surface marks, the worst near the upper strap pin but that’s very very minor for a 20 year old bass. It weighs in at a respectable 4.3kg and measures 42.5mm at the nut. The gloss on the back of the neck has been knocked back slightly with zero grade wire wool for a smoother feel. The fretboard has been treated with lemon oil and the bass has been fully set up. Comes in a padded gig bag. Will post anywhere or can deliver or meet up within 60 miles of Chester. No trades at the moment. Probably. Possibly........oh go on then, try me...... Thanks for looking.
  17. At least he tried to fit it - several tries by the look of those neck mount holes.......
  18. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F312651832980 Someone grab it before I drive 420 miles to get it myself!
  19. Any chance you could measure the hole centres please? Thanks
  20. I was thinking about aTE bright box to add zing to my old single 15” twin valve combo but after this thread will now withdraw interest and delete my search alert! Also I’m sure the last eBay one sold for £55.......
