  1. Forget the Audio Interface. I'm definitely out. Ibanez SRF700 Portamento arrived yesterday.
  2. Wait, what ? Does that mean an audio interface doesn't count then ?
  3. I'm currently looking for a used 4 string version I see they've gone up to £999 or thereabouts. I wonder how the new Panga Panga fingerboard, and Obeche (I think, ) wings jobs, compare to the older Rosewood fingerboard and and Mahogany version. Also, I thought the control arrangement was Piezo volume, Piezo Tone, Barts Volume, Barts Balance, and Bass and Treble for the Barts ? ISTR an old post somewhere complaining that if the Piezo is being used, either one or both EQ controls didn't work properly ?
  4. Another request for John Giblin
  5. BOSS SY-1000 £620 plus GK3 guitar, GK3B bass (does up to 6 string) 13pin pickups, and 1 x 3 metre 13pin cable posted to you. I may as well, as if I'm selling this, I won't need the pickups. Basically 3 instruments plus the guitar/or bass at once via the 13pin socket. Can be a mixture of synths, virtual guitars (with or without virtual tunings), or both. Also FX unit, Amp modeller, and pitch to midi etc See SY-1000 webpage here BOSS’s most powerful guitar/bass synth and modelling processor ever Next-generation synth engine with custom DSP and 48 kHz/32-bit processing throughout Unprecedented sound and expression with three simultaneous instrument types and advanced real-time signal processing Each instrument provides pitch, level, and panning of each string for instant alternate tunings and wide, layered voicings New Dynamic Synth perfectly follows the guitar’s natural envelope for uncompromised tone shaping New sound engine and GK 13-pin interface deliver clear, dynamic sound and precision tracking with zero latency Dynamic Synth includes two 16-part step sequencers for evolving control of pitch, filter, and amplitude Newly refreshed versions of historic BOSS/Roland guitar synth and modeling technologies: OSC Synth, GR-300, E.Guitar, E.Bass, Acoustic, VIO Guitar, and Poly FX Normal ¼-inch guitar/bass input for blending and Dynamic Synth processing Premium effects and amps derived from the flagship GT-1000 Large LCD and intuitive editing interface for free-flowing sound creation Eight freely assignable footswitches, external control support, effects loop, and configurable Main/Sub outputs USB Audio/MIDI and MIDI I/O, plus Guitar-to-MIDI/Bass-to-MIDI function Dedicated Guitar and Bass modes Customize sounds with the BOSS Tone Studio editor and download pro patches at BOSS Tone Central Download and share Livesets at BOSS Tone Exchange Roland GK-compatible pickup and 13-pin cable required for full access to all synth and modelling features Fender RR Strat is still also for sale. It would go nice with this ;-)
  6. Fender Roland Ready Strat £520 ONO (not cheaper GC-1 version) Fender (Mexican) Roland Ready Strat 2005,and 3M 13pin cable Strat in great condition but with one very small chip, and two very small hard to see unless you're looking for them scratches, which I'll try and show on the pics. Really nice feel, plays well Strat. Brown Sunburst, with rosewood fingerboard, 5 way switch, whammy bar etc PLUS 13 pin socket, Synth (whatever is connected at the end of the 13pin cable)/Mix/Guitar selector switch, and + and - buttons. All works and plays great. n.b. There are no actual sounds in the guitar. It can be played as a normal Strat, but needs something like 13pin guitar synth unit e.g. Boss SY-1000, Boss GP10, Roland, VG99, Roland GR55 etc to use the synth controls. I have good feedback on both here, ebay under 2pods. Unfortunately, I don't have a hard case, but it will be packed well if needed. postage would have to be worked out with prospective buyers. In the photos with the scratches, don't be put off by what looks like two lines with highlights in them, it's just our LED lights. Any questions, or more pics, just ask
  7. Great news. Wishing you well with your recovery
  8. I ended up doing something the same. I have a Presonus Quantum 2626 8 in Thunderbolt 3 interface. It's faster than a fast thing, but has no built in monitoring unless your running a DAW. I was looking at both the Octopre+, and the Behringer version for expansion via ADAT, but I also wanted something I could leave my gear plugged into and use without the PC being on. None of the expansion preamps had any standalone monitoring either, so I hit on the (expensive) solution of using a 3rd generation Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. It was a bit of a faff, but it works in both situations.
  9. I remember you saying when we were discussing a "Funkmaster" bass. I live in nearby Gourock. We tend to have death grip like hand exercises 🤣 The other thing to remember, is to make sure your hands are warmed up before attempting any of the exercises, or you could end up doing more damage than good. It's also worth taking any pain relief (if you're on any) about 20 minutes before your work out. I've found that helpful.
  10. @TheGreek That looks like the legendary "Braeside Fighting Hand" positions
  11. I remember my old Trace Elliot manuals saying don't put the master any higher than 4, which I think was about 10 o'clock. The rest of the control was only if you were using it as a pre-amp into another amp. Possibly something like this ?
  12. Why not just tell us what the amp is ?
  13. A physio gave me this tip, which helps. Always run, or bathe your hands in hot water for a bit before playing
  14. Same. Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, CFS, and all that goes with it. It's getting for 18 years since my last band, and I'm still dreaming about gigs we played/wanted to play every night. I just do what I can, when I can. My calluses are gone. Not enough playing. A lot of the time I'm just too tired to concentrate. (Must be all them nocturnal gigs, eh ? ) As I got worse, I stopped being able to get out and about and haven't seen anyone from any band I've played with for years. Basschat helps a lot, but there's no substitute for a good gig. Keep at it as long as you can, but don't overdo it. Take care.

    Oh Lordy

Between having crap, almost hollow walls, and the chance of hitting a cable or a pipe, wall hangers are off the menu for me. Back on topic, I'd have to do a "one out, one in job". The trouble is I can never make my mind up which one I want out
  16. I've failed miserably again. I've bought a Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen interface to be used as a feeder for my Presonus Quantum 2626 via ADAT, and small mixer duty when the PC is off. Theoretically I've been told it will do this, but if not I'll send it back. So *could* be back in later
  17. One 5 string is enough for me. Even then I keep threatening to sell it
  18. Sold my FM3 to get a FM9. I know what you mean
  19. HX Stomp. Plenty of Bass amp and cab sims, FX etc. It's also a good audio interface. Comes with free Cubase SE just now. However, I like Studio One
