  1. So far it's OK to put up with, though I may feel differently after a while. Time will tell. Still can't believe how good the sound is from something as small as that. Though I did have a baby EA iAMP350 combo that had really good sound. That was about the same size, but much, much, heavier.
  2. They've changed it! - the VLE is now " Old School" is it? and the VPF is gone in favour of a preshape. Balanced input has also gone but footswitch has appeared. and a mute switch at long last. Did they do anything about the hissy horn? It's hornless, as it's the tweeter version (maybe Dairy version ) Can't say I've noticed it, but I haven't ran it at any great volume so far. Did the input jack socket always light up ? Yeah, the date thing is a bit strange. I didn't notice if it was delivered in a De Lorean though Wouldn't mind finding out though...
  3. Arrived today in very good time from Promenade Music. It's everything I hoped it would be, and sounds amazing It's very versatile, but I'm probably preaching to the choir here. It's the version 4, Indonesian model. Given my health situation (Fibromyalgia and CFS) it's a wee bit hefty for me to lift (I know, totally weak, but even my bass is heavy enough to hurt at the moment), but weighs a lot less than my previous amps and cabs, but still sounds like a fair sized rig. It's sound and "heft" is easily comparable with my last Ashdown EVOII and mini cab. I love everything about it except for the awkward location of the DI out etc (underneath). For some reason I'd got it into my head it would be at the back of the cab However, if I'm ever in a position to gig again, a spare cab would solve that. I'll have to get some sort of cover for it, as our cats are eyeing the carpet covering already. Do the older versions of the Markbass covers fit this version too ?
  4. Circumstances dictate that I need a new amp, so can't follow up on the Para EQ. GLWTS
  5. I've been following this nervously, having ordered a MARKBASS MINI CMD121P IV from Promenade Music. haven't received it yet. Wondering now if I should cancel ?
  6. Thanks. Just having a squint to see if I can sell something...
  7. What version is the Para EQ ?
  8. I had the same setup with the EVO II amp. It was a great wee rig. What that ? Speak up. Loud you say ? I should think so
  9. Have a bump on the grounds that you're a fellow cat tickler. (If I had the loot, I would have bought it)
  10. I'd love a Portamento. I get a bit lost on my SRH500, as the fret lines are black. It sounds great, though it would be good to have the option of the magnetic pickups too
  11. Look good. It's a pity only the second two are available for Kindle. I have all the Deke Leonard stuff, which is hilarious
  12. I loved the sound he had on "Road Noise", the live Judie Tzuke album. ISTR it was his birthday, and he played his derrière off. I thought that was either an 80s Aria, but probably was his Alembic as he had one early doors.
  13. In my defence, I'd sold my TE combo earlier in the week, so had no choice (and no other rig !)
  14. Received ABM EVO 500 amp and 2 x mini 4 x 8 cabs late on a Saturday afternoon, loaded into pub at 8.00pm, first song 10.00pm. Went great. Half deaf by 1.30am (very narrow stage)
  15. Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Fever at a young age. Was inconvenient but controlled with large doses of Enteric Aspirin and alcohol (well, I was young innit ? ) zoom to 25 years ago I was diagnosed with (then little known) Fibromyalgia. I knew something wasn't right for about five years previous. Carried on with various Codeine based stuff, was OK but started recover from work/gigs slower than usual. Eventually, over the course of the next few years, it got harder and harder. Treatments had now progressed to using Antidepressants, Anti Epileptic drugs, and Dihydrocodeine. By this time I was panicking I wouldn't make a gig because of the pain and fatigue, which would make me worse. After chucking my job, I tried to keep gigging, but eventually came to the conclusion that the whole situation was too much. Not gigged since. Messed about with recording etc. Even now I still really miss playing live. Apart from the Fibro pain, fatigue, and brain fog, I know can no longer use my right arm much from shoulder to finger tip. I can't lift it above my shoulder, it's very weak and painful. I thought I'd broken it ! I remember having what I thought was a massive flare, with the same thing in both arms, but only my right has recovered. Currently back at Rheumatology, via our practice's Physio, on Etoricoxib, Duloxetine, and Opioids. Sorry for the huge rant, I just needed to get it off my chest
  16. 2007 + both previous incarnations of BC, with a measly 410 posts. My eyes are usually sore with the amount I read on here though
  17. That's a no from me too. Why did the guy even take the gig with no intention of bringing his own bass, or making arrangements for a hire with his agent/promoter ? Not a very professional attitude, eh ?
