  1. I've had one for a while. I really like it. Very woody with plenty of Mwah. The piezo tone control is really good. I like it so much I've been looking for a used Portamento to give me the all in one elec/acoustic thing (though the SRF500 sounds nearly as good for the electric thing). Hope this helps
  2. I keep saying I'm done, but if a nice 4 string Ibanez Portamento comes up I could be tempted...
  3. What did they do with downstairs then ? BTW I'm definitely out now. I reasoned that since I ordered the Cali76 CB before new year it didn't count. However, One Fractal Audio sale later and crashed and burned.....again
  4. That would be Tear Gas. Often called Fear Gas cos of their volume
  5. Yeah, it was the weight that got me plus hand damage. So off to the Solent it went. It had a great sound though.
  6. I had one of their small but mighty combos from here (think it may have been Owen's ?), but foolishly sold it to a nice BC member from the IOW. Wish I still had it. Sad news
  7. Sucked right in ! That's what I get for not checking the date first.......
  8. I've finally given in and bought a Cali76 CB, as I just couldn't get that "squash" from my Helix. Just thinking about pedals, I had what was (I think ?) a type of flanger but with a setting for ADT in the 80's. It was a big metal EHX style case, but I'm not sure if it was one of theirs or not. It was great for fretless ballads etc. It wasn't mine, and went back to it's owner when that band folded, but I wish I could remember what it was Pretty sure we had a Mutron alike then too. can't remember make or model of that either except it had all the controls the Mutron had in a similar layout. If I could find them I'd buy them in a minute. My one big spend this year would be a Fractal F9, but who knows when any stock will hit the EU, and then there's the expense of import etc.
  9. You lot are OK.... It was more of a of a off board thing
  10. Never noticed it myself, and despite my post count, I've been here for years (even though I've lurked more than posted recently) A lot of the above names are familiar, with maybe just one for the wrong reasons, but it's a good place and well run. It keeps me happy
  11. I've had it already. One Cali76CB on route for tomorrow. -2 already 😁
  12. I corrected myself just before you corrected me 😄 The joys of of a memory that barely remembers the 70s
  13. I have the fretless version of this, and I can confirm that they're really nice basses. GLWTS
  14. Ran a Series 6 1210 combo with TE's smaller 15 years ago. It was a solid sound.
  15. OK, it was just cos somebody had mentioned the location Sorry. Apologies to @Skinnyman and everyone else concerned
  16. Problem solved. an old My Cloud disk bricked itself yesterday and to my surprise it's adaptor works the M-Patch just fine 😎
  17. Great idea, as my Multimeter still hasn't turned up. I'll try it tonight. Thanks
  18. Hoping to get a hold of a multimeter today. I've been put on to a suitable replacement psu by Martin W over at the SOS forums. Fortunately the unit itself is still working
  19. Hope this is in the right place, but anyway the mods will move it if not... Switched the gear on today (individually as usual, in case of overload) when I noticed no lights on my wee M-Patch 2 monitor controller It's a few years old, and came with a Euro 2 pin plug which I've been using with 2 to 3pin fused adapter. I've tried the 2 to 3 pin adaptor with my razor cleaning wotsit, and that works OK, so I'm assuming it's the actual adaptor. It states on the back it's an "AC/DC Class II Transformer, Input 230v ~ 50Hz, Output 15v DC 200mA, model D35-15-200" Not quite sure which bit of the input barrel to measure, but the diameter is big enough to nearly fit the width of one of 2 pins in. It also seems to be middle of the barrel positive and the outside negative. Any chance of a link to a (preferably UK) replacement ? TIA
