1. I have the VG99 and am very pleased with it. I'd love a VB99 to go with it, but I'm brassic 'cos my garage fell down, so have a bump instead.
2. [sup]Having just gone back to a passive bass, I'm interested in this.[/sup] [sup]Is it still for sale, and what's it like compared to other types of EQ pedals ?[/sup]
3.
They never get the credit they deserve for being Ireland's first real rock band.
I thought that would have been Taste. Was Skid Row earlier then ?
4.
PM'd
PM'd back
5. Go on, you know you want both the walnut and the maple models
6. Thanks adledman. I had to think hard about selling it, but at least if it sells on here, it will go to someone who will appreciate it.
7. [sub]I've always found Thomann very good to deal with.[/sub]
8. I bought this new, and it's still mint, having never been gigged or been outside my little studio (non smoking house), so it's absolutely mint, as if it was just purchased. At the time ( 2005 )this was the top of Ibanez's range. I've had other top end Ibanez, and this compares very favourably indeedy ! It is 5 piece SR4 Maple/Bubinga neck through, Flamed Maple/Maple wing body, MN-4 bridge with 19mm string spacing,2 USA custom Bartolini soapbars (NOT the cheaper Bart MK1s), and Vari-Mid III HQ 3 band EQ. It currently has a set of 105-45 Elixirs on it with a nice low action. It comes with it's matching Ibanez moulded and shaped hard case, with a fetching crimson plush shaped interior It plays great, sounds great, and looks great. So why am I selling ? Long story short, damage to my hands, medium scale bass (not a patch on this, but I can't afford a Kingbass), making do So here's the pics: I'm looking for £500, and would much prefer collection, but I could courier at at cost to the buyer. My feedback thread is on here, and my eBay feedback is under the same name: 2pods. If you want to try it out, just give me a shout. Ta,
9. There's also http://www.overloud.com/products/mark_studio1.php It's a LOT cheaper now that Overloud are responsible for it, rather than MarkBass itself.
10. Great stuff ! I really enjoyed playing this, way back when. Lindisfarne were one of my all time faves.
11.
...a Status Kingbass styled bass for £500?
I'll have one of them too
12. Ronnie "Plonk" Lane, Kenny Gradney (Little Feat), Rhino Edwards (mostly pre Quo with Judie Tzuke. Check out "Road Noise")
13. Owing to circumstances beyond OS's control (and I'm totally OK with it), I need to relist the Variax. I've dropped the price to £60 posted.
14. I've finally got around to buying another guitar to use my Roland GK3 pu on, so the above is no longer required. Essentialy its a Line6 Variax 300 in black with all the electronics taken out APART from the the LR Baggs piezo bridge, which can be used with some modification to feed an acoustic type sound, or I've even heard of people over t the Line6 forums (sorry mods) hooking it up to internal midi pu boards ! After I sold the insides (it was all in a metal "biscuit tin" like case), I was using it with the aforesaid GK3 into a Roland VG99. It plays fine, feels quite nice for a cheapy. I was originally going to install a humbucker and keep it, but I have a RR Strat, so I no longer need it. £50 plus P&P ? (I would probably unsrew the neck to keep the postage down) There are more pics if anyone needs them
15.
You could have a raised fret or you could have a badly wound string.
New strings, wound properly, stretched etc. It's either been dressed too low, or it's lifted. Hopefully I'll find out on Thursday, when my pal brings his tools over. I don't have the right sized straight edge.
16. I'd replaced the strings anyway, but I think I'll send it back. I just wanted to be sure. Pity, I really liked it otherwise
17. The thing is that it was a cheapish guitar that was delivered to day, and I'm bit reluctant to send it back, though I was thinking of asking for the price of the repair off the price. I don't mind a bit of fretbuzz, as it rarely comes through the amp, unless I dig in and I want it to, but this is a total no note. I'll get in touch with DV24 and see what they say Thanks for the wisdom again
18.
Sounds like you've got a raised fret. If so, no bother, just get it dressed.
The weird thing is, if I bend the string further into the board it clears up. All the other strings are fine on the same fret Which physical fret is it likely to be. I'm thinking of "my finger is placed between two frets on what I call the tenth fret" so is it the 9th or 10th Would the rest of the frets need dressed too ? There are no guitar techs locally, but how much do think I would be looking at ? I normally setup and maintain my basses myself, but then again, their frets are fine
19. Apologies for this being about a guitar, rather than one of my basses, but said guitar completely chokes out on the tenth fret of the bottom E string, and nowhere else I've tried raising the bridge, but it didn't change the situation enough to take the hit of a high action. Any Ideas ? Also posted in UKMG
20. Have we seen This nice Aria TSB 550. I had the natural version, and now I have the 650N . I much prefer the 4 inline headstock.
21. Great bass ! Good comms, good packing, swift delivery. Recommended.
