"Grace and Danger"
Yep, after looking at that SRT video, it's near identical to my Prestige, with different pickups. I like the curved back, that was a reason I bought it, fits my beer belly nicely!
and so does mine

I've had three so far. A 90's black SR 500, a SR1300PM (really shouldn't have sold that, but it part-funded my 20th anni 'ray), and now the one in my sig - SR1000 Prestige. All of them very comfy, all of them sounded/sound good, especially the USA Barts on the current bass. Except that I'm skint, I'd be looking for a five and a fretless, both Ibby

You're probably righr re the BB-VIs. I ended up swapping it for a Korg synth expander, solidiering on with the TSB fretless, then buying a 34" scale Aria RSB Deluxe II. Metallic red sparkle, um....

I knew someone would put a Kingbass up I'd love one The Yammie was a long time ago. Around the time of "Power Of Love" by Huey Lewis, and "set Them Free" by Sting, because I remember they were both in the set at the time, and I gave up on it after breaking the nut on two of them in the slap bit of the Sting thing I bought it (and got it replaced with another one) from Sound Control in Glasgow, when they where at the Saltmarket (I think it was the Saltmarket, though it could have been the Trongate), and I think it was a BB300.

I've been thinking more and more about what an idiot I was selling my old Aria TSB 550. It was perfect for me. IMHO it wasn't just the the 32" scale, it was also the really tight string spacing all the way up. If I ever come into any loot (ha !) I would have a bass made to the same scale, same string spacing, and this time won't have it defretted. Yamaha also did a BB 32" version that was nice. I'd love to try a 32" 5 string.
Yes doing Paul Simon's America still remains one of my favourite songs ever. Chris Squire playing Bernstein's America riff under the section at 1:44 is inspired.
Wow ! Is this the version on the "Age of Atlantic" sampler ? Did they ever release it any other way ?

YES - "Going For The One" recording session

TFTTO <shudder/> I saw them on that tour in Glasgow, and it was a very boring first half. The rest of the show was brilliant. All the the usuals, played excellently. -
THE worst (bass related) feeling in the world

I have variously : Left a guitar in a taxi (but got it back) Left an Alesis MMT8 sequencer I was taking to Sound Control for a trade in on the train (I got it back, and came out with a brilliant medium scale Yamaha bass) In my teens, threw a really cheap TopTwenty P copy out of the back of the van, as the "manager" (I use the term losely) had promised me a decent bass when the TT packed up. A really helpful neighbour brought it back to the house the following day, sporting tyre marks. She said I must have been distraught ! Forget to pack my stage clothes for a wedding gig fifty miles away. Spent all night trying to hide behind the drumkit, and my Trace cabs. Forgotten to take the bass entirely (luckily it was local, so I could fetch it.) Watched in horror as the keyboard player backed into my brand new Aria RSB Deluxe. Watched in horror as, after loading my brand new Trace AH500SMX head into the van, the drummer knocks it out again claiming he was looking for beer ! -
Thanks everyone. I think that's made my mind up for me, I'll get a Shuttle...er, no, I mean a Cube 30

I'm looking for either a Roland Bass Cube 30 or the Micro Cube Bass RX, as all I really need now is a practice amp of very little volume. However (you knew it was coming, didn't you ?), which sounds less boxy ? I know I'm never going to be getting tight bottom end out of either of them, but are they any improvement on the usual Peavey Microbass, Marshall 15 etc ? And do they handle active basses OK ? Which ever amp I do settle on isn't going to be used with drums, so volume isn't an issue. Money unfortunately is, or I'd be looking for something a lot more expensive but still small, like a Phil Jones, EA, etc. Any Cube owners care to comment ?

Don't just use foam inserts. I once fired two straight into a table at the front.

A really low cut nut also helps, with strings nearly resting on the fingerboard.

Martin bought my Korg D1600, and was great to deal with. Paid very quickly and good communications though out. Ten out of Ten
that lawnmower thing just cracked me up big time! it was the bit about him driving it to his house at night because it was illegal that really had me creased
Well, there's no lights on it..................

Not on here, but I did swap my mountain bike to our drummer at the time, for his CH12 Vdrum HiHat trigger. And I was offered an Ibanez SR500/700 bass which I knew had been bought on ebay for £250 (though the guy didn't know that I knew how much he'd paid for it, and where he'd got it. Spun me a tale about seeing it new in a local music shop and had to have it etc) for an ABM500EVO, and 2 x ABM Mini8 4 x 8 cabs.

I'm owed a blue light from a few years ago, from the lighting rig we bought, but what would I do with a blue light ? I thought they could keep it as a memento
Can I ask how old this is, and how recently you've used it for recording? Cheers, Martin
You have PM :-) I checked it out recently with my Aphex Xciter using the DI, and everything is the way it should be. As I said further up, its really NOS. It was one of the last lot made, which I bought from GAK, for £1200 adding the "official" CDR. I then recorded and burned a few things for my mate's band, and it's been a mixer in my spare room since for my TD8, VG99 (Hi, Ped !), and my EMU interface, apart from a demo of an acoustic I was selling. When it wasn't being used (i.e. off) it has always been dust covered. Feel free to come and check it out anytime.
