An absolute pleasure to deal with Tim, who bought my SS Stingray Very pleasant guy who did everything possible to make this a very nice sales experience. A Star !
  2. There was a Roland GR33 that did a good one, but that's really a guitar synth. Though it might have been playable via midi in from a keyboard. There are a couple of VST versions, also there are two collections of pedal steel loops from Big Fish Audio. One VST is by Idiginus (sic) called "The Steel" which is a Kontakt instrument (full version only), and there is a really complicated one which I can't remember, but you can google it and Ueberschall.com's "Pedal Steel", and another one from ink-audio.com for Kontakt. Sorry for messy post, as stuff happening
  3. re plectrum Me too. I couldn't use a plectrum now to save my life. After seeing MM I thought if it's good enough for JM, it's good enough for me. Pity I don't have his talent though
  4. I didn't know he was in bad health, or was it sudden ? Either way, a bloody shame
  5. Not basses, but the lap steel guitars I have (one Korina, the others Mahogany) resonate like billy-o. There is enough volume and sustain for me to practice without an amp. You'd swear I was going through an Origin Slide Rig ! All just planks with steel nuts (!) and bridges
  6. Don't remember Jim in the AWB "classic" years (Show Your Hand, AWB, Cut the Cake, etc) Maybe it was later on, but he made a fine noise with his Morrisey Mullen band. Very funky
  7. I've managed to acquire a Gretsch Lap Steel, so I don't think there is anything else I'm looking to trade (unless it's a D'Addario XPND Pedal Board one row version, plus cash) so I'll leave the trade option in on the off chance
  8. Very nice preamp. Pity I have other commitments at the moment, but have a bump instead It's always at the wrong time for me GLWTS
  9. very similar to the shape of a Aria SB900
  10. Just a postage thing This is priced with postage included to UK. I'll use PF24/PF48 if someone will tell me how to arrange external insurance, or maybe organise your own ?
  11. Owing to the sale of one of my other basses, I may need to keep this. So I've paused the sale for now If I can get what this does from the remaining basses, I'll put it back up As I said in My other Bass for Sale Ad, I need to clear some space in here. So this Ibanez SR600E is up for sale. I bought it online from GuitarGuitar in October last year to run a Roland GK3B pickup. Once I sorted it out with a new set of 100 -40s the intonation sorted itself, and off we went. Now I've sold the Roland pickup, and really have no need for this, as I'm using my 5 string, Fretless, and short scale. The bass is finished in Antique Brown Stainburst. Body being Ash, with a 5 piece neck Jatoba/Walnut neck, and a Rosewood fingerboard. Bridge is an Accu-cast B500. It's in very good condition. Frets, Truss rod doing what they should, with a good sound coming from the Nordstrand "Big Break" pickups (two Precision style), the EQ is sounding great.....except for one weird thing.* On the Bass knob it has the usual mid "flat EQ" indentation, but if you turn that control up full, you can turn it a bit further. Almost like a boost, or direct to jack socket type of thing. I've had a look at the preamp which looks and sounds normal. *Giving it a right good going over today, I think it's fine. Just seems to be a slight rubbing against the wood (I could of said body, behave up the back) The Bass control does what it should, as does the Mid, and Treble controls (Treble becomes "Tone" in passive mode), and there is a 3 way switch to select the mid range frequency, and another for active/passive modes. There are a few scratches where I had the GK-3 mounted, but they're not that noticeable. I'll try and show them in a pic. *The Roland GK3B is not included in the sale* I'm willing to post the bass (which although it has no case, will be very well packed in a bass box etc) if the owner arranges the courier and insurance, or some other arrangement. Collection, of course, is free. If you're up here, feel free to come and try it. Any questions, just ask I do have pics without the GK3, which I'll post later
  12. So, it's come to this. There's no more space, so a couple of basses must go (or maybe just one) This is my Ibanez Premium 30th Anniversary with Nordstrand "Big Singles" and a mini switched 3 band EQ, with 3 position mid band selector switch (Treble control becomes "Tone" in passive mode). I'm the original owner, and it hasn't been gigged In fact, it hasn't left our smoke free house. I can only find one mark on it, and you'd have to be looking for it to see it. I've tried to show it in the second last pic. It plays great with a low action. Sounds really good. A collector's item. Truss rod and frets are working and in excellent condition. The weight is 3.8k according to our scales. It comes with it's own Ibanez Soft/Hard case and Ibanez Bass Tool, and will also be very well packed in a bass box. Postage included (UK only). I would normally use PF24/PF48, however insurance is the buyer's responsibility as PF, like most carriers only insure up to £100 Any questions, just ask. If you're up here, you're welcome to pop in and try it. Some Info from the launch courtesy of "No Treble"
  13. I saw a vid of Hamish with Baz and the Tomorrow band. Multo funky. Unlike the version with Ringo, and Steve Lukather (sp ?) there. Did you notice Ringo wasn't going for the hihat choke accents ? I'm not sure the other drummer (whose name I can't recall) did either. Just my opinion
  14. I meant the older (or non Premium) versions with what looks like Bart MK1s
  15. Thanks. I love the bass, but am starting to think I prefer humbuckers to singles, having acquired a SR600E. Obviously, good as it is, the 600E can't compare to the 30th but I don't want to hack the 30th body. I'm also starting to feel like I should consider selling stuff that's not really getting used anymore, as I don't gig anymore, health is not too good, and maybe it's time to "Thin the herd", as they say in the Other Place. I still have the 5 string Premium to fall back on if I need that sound again. It's funny, I always thought if I was going to sell one of my Ibbys it would be the five, not the 30th. Any idea how much these go for secondhand. It's in mint condition ? I have an 80% off evilbay offer for this weekend, but if I do sell, I'd rather sell it here......if
  16. Another NGD. Just bought this Great little guitar destined for a C6 tuning. It was in perfect nick when I bought it, and very well packed. However, the seller had said it was tuned to D, as he'd put fairly hefty strings on. He also said he was slackening the strings for postage and throwing in a steel. Imagine my surprise when I unpacked it to find a piece out of the body ( had a look in the packaging, but couldn't find it), the steel sellotaped to the bottom of the guitar wrapping (which had obviously done the damage, as the sides are very sharp), and tuned to high G.........that's dobro tuning......a heavy E string tuned up to G even allowing for the 23" scale. My seller said he'd definitely had it in D, and loosened the strings when he sent it, and I believe him. So....do we have a lap steel player at Evri who opened the box because it was from a Gretsch Lap Steel guitar ? I don't know, and the chip doesn't bother me, but I wonder about these carriers
  17. Can anyone tell me how many shots Ibanez took at a SR Premium 4 string 30th anniversary bass ? I've seen them with silver control knobs, Lacewood tops, even with soapbar pickups. Mine was described as having a a Cocobolo top, Wenge fingerboard, Nordy big Singles, and Titanium strips in the neck when I bought it new. It still sounds amazing I'm trying to find out where mine fits into the scheme of things, in case I sell it. The bass is mint. Unlike the manual ................
