Maybe she thinks she's next on the Trade in list ?

Don't say it, don't say it........

Hmm....I'm contemplating a purchase from them in the next couple of months (it's £2k, so I'm still saving), but this fills me with doubt. When I returned a bass drum pedal years ago, it was collected at my door, and refunded within a week. Obviously financial cuts on the courier side.

For those who have had to use a backup bass, why?
2pods replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
What about forgetting to bring it ? Not that I would ever do anything like that, and luckily it was local so I got Mrs 2pods to bring it to the gig. Likewise, when my 20th Anny Stingray went down with a SD preamp fault. Mrs 2pods to the rescue again with my Spector. However, after gigging for over 50 years, they were the only times I had a problem at the gig. Once après gig, in the van on the way home, I attempted to get our "manager" to buy me a better bass by slinging the said Zenta (Woolworth job, which also only had three strings) bass from the Transit in transit's back doors. However a well meaning neighbour returned it next day.....complete with tyre marks. It still bloody worked I was only 14 though... -
How old were you when you did your first gig?
2pods replied to odysseus's topic in General Discussion
stand in drummer (with original drummer's kit...I didn't have one) at 13 in 1970. A wedding in @TheGreek's old neck of the woods Braeside. Managed to bluff it until the break/buffet. Second half, first song, the usual religious Armageddon breaks out....I had a lovely view from behind the bass drum. Various people thrown out/injured, everyone drumk and happy again. At least we got paid....I think ? A year later. First gig on bass with Woolworth "Top Twenty", vaguely Precision shaped object with three strings. It stayed like that all through that band. Amp was a Selmer "Treble and Bass" with matching cab. We played the likes of "What's Going On ?" (Taste), "Black Night" (Purple), with no keyboards etc I think it was a church youth club. -
Is BC a community, or just a source of information?
2pods replied to Rayman's topic in General Discussion
I've been here since 2006, and though I don't post much, have had some really good interactions with the peeps here. Initially, it was information, but quickly developed into the community that it is now. I think I've only ever met a couple of BC members, via sales but I've had so much help (Shergold Snickers, where are you now ?), fun (again Big Beef Chief), and laughs over the years. Long may it continue. PS I've also been on Bass Talk, but these days they don't write, don't phone, send postcards nuthin' -
Just bought a C4 from John. It's in "new" condition, sounds like a C4 should. He's so fast off the mark with despatch, and packed it extremely well. Very friendly, and good comms. Thanks John

......and, as if by magic, a C4 appears in the "FX for Sale" sub forum for me to buy.

Did someone really pay £600 for a Squier Affinity?

Body text says "Fender Precision Bass" Naughty, naughty -
Seeing the title, I wondered if someone had come up with a pedal to give you a good fretless sound from a fretted bass ( a la VB99 with GK3B) Must read more slowly. Sounds nice, but quite expensive, and had as been said, nothing we can't already get from our usual gear.
