Your combo won't be putting out the full 575 watts into one speaker (15 inch I assume). You'd only get the full wattage with two 8 ohm cabs connected to the amp giving a combined impedence of 4 ohms. The old speaker will, more than likely, have been 8 ohms which means the amp would only have been putting out about 350 watts. A 400 watt 8 ohm Celestion or emminence speaker would be more than capable of replacing the old Ashdown speaker. MB1. + Twelvety...listen to what the man said! Ashdown will have a replacement speaker, and you wont affect the combos resale if you replace it like for like! Have you got a blue one?.....Fnarr Fnarr!,

MB1. The only 8 string Jaydee ive ever seen Mr King with was this one (around the time of True Colours) used on "Hours by the window" obviously it was originally built at Jaydee but as to its history only Mr King or Mr Diggins would know that! (A very old Pic out of One Two Testing.) Think Durandassi may know a little more on this?

MB1. Fan should run as soon as you turn the combo on! the only ashdown amps that are thermostatically switched are the Little Giants that i know of.

MB1. Went to see these guys in Manchester at the Ritz last night and they were Great. An impressive catalogue of songs and "The Queen is Dead" in its entirety. Very capable group of musicians and as near to the Smiths as ive heard. Most Enjoyable!....... Catch them in Buxton on the 30th! An absolute must for any Smiths fan!
