Hi folks,
Love my Rickenbacker dearly, but it's seeing very little action at the moment - Playing Fenders, and they seem to just work for me.
It's a Blueburst (colour of the year 2005) but didn't arrive with me until 2007. The serial number denotes it as a 2007 and I'm the original owner.
It has seen 3 gigs in it's life, and on the third someone tried to nick it. Since then it's been a stay at home bass.
Not the biggest Ric neck i've played, but not the skinniest; Weight wise it's lighter than the last 4 or 5 ricks i've played - I don't have scales to weigh it...
It has a tiny mark on the treble side rear corner of the headstock, about 1mm wide.
It also has an impression on the ribcage contour from a control knob of another bass - it was sat on a 5-way rockstand.
Other than those 2 marks, it looks as fresh as a daisy.
It lives in it's Ric hardcase, and theres a really nice Neutrik 'Y' cable to use the 'Ric-O-Sound'
I know i'd regret selling it. But if I could trade it for something equally special, i'd feel less stupid.
The main thing i'd be looking for is one of the Fender Custom Shop 'Time Machine' series 55 P-Basses. There was one for sale on the Bass Direct site in blonde recently.
I'd also be open to any othe Fender CS or Quality Hyper Fender. Alembic Orion? I only play 4 string basses too, and I have a really nice fretless. Just so you're aware.
EDIT - Not after Musicman basses at the moment - sold 2 last year as I wasn't using them, held on to the Ric at the time, but it makes me sad just having it in the case.
So, as above, it's a feeler. But hit me with whatever.
