Hey MB1, nice to see my old Overdrive pedal being used and in such a cool way. Regards mate. neil
MB1. Cheers Neil! These Effects work great as a set they are a lot more subtle than other effects ive used, they dont muddy up your sound and i find them much easier to use, than having to edit programs on say a Boss GT6B. Might check the new JLO distortion? i can always use it as a spare, just in case i get a puncture! Martin.
Ok, got my J Lo pedal s few days ago so thought I would share my thoughts. Gotta say in 20 years of playing and experimenting with gear this is without a doubt the best overdrive pedal i have encountered. It's very solidly built like a little tank and just begs to be stomped on! The variety of sounds is fantastic, setting the mix fairly low with drive up a little it just makes your bass sound warmer, more full and just generally more harmonic, everythings a little sweeter, great for blues. If you get a bit more aggressive with the controls you can make your bass just sound huge and absolutely filthy but bottom and top end clarity are retained whereas most pedals I have had just turn things to mush. With some more tweaking i managed to get that ever sustaining cello sound which is just amazing. True bypass too. All this and I have only had it for a couple of days. I use a P bass through an Ashdown Classic rig in case you were wondering. Best bit of all though is the price! I would happily pay double the asking price for this it really is that good. Think i may have to buy a couple more to have them all set differently!
MB1. Might have to put one of these up against my Ashdown Drive Plus! "I would happily pay double the asking price!"......reminds me of that Not the nine o clock news sketch!(Rowan Atkinson) regarding the price of the Television licence, and praising the BBCs value for money!
Lovely bass that I bought from our very own BassJase few months ago but not really sure that I'm a 5 stringer... also tend to prefer short-scale basses. Would be interested in any trade offers of decent short-scale 4 stringers, particularly of the vintage variety. Alternatively if you have a pile of cash burning a hole in your pocket please just p.m. Edit - given lack of short scale trades around, would accept cash price [s]around £550[/s] (reduced to £500 o.n.o.)
I've put her on ebay for £850, is that about right? as she needs a bit of tlc
MB1. I think £850might be a bit steep to be honest for a quick sale A.its not a red one(not as popular) B.If it needs tlc its a trip to J.D in Birmingham which again can be costly. -

Spider XL Pedalboard Flight Case
MB1 replied to Dubs's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
MB1. Hello Ben. They should be refunding you the full amount if theres nothing wrong with it. Have you still got your original reciept?. You will be expected to pay to get it back to them if its not there fault(you did after all purchase the wrong size).Youre gonna be purchasing another pedalboard/case off them so i cant understand why they wont give you a Full refund.Mind you theyve still got to post you the new replacement board/case so i suppose youll have to take postage into account too.Might be better to put this down to experience and just get the proper sized board you were after. -
