MB1. Mr Murphy you sly old dude!...... we were but talking about a Rickenbacker on this very forum not so long ago!.I saw this on the bay,it is a very nice looking Rickenbacker, shame i dont have the spare cash for that one.... to visit Manchester. This is a Much sort after model as Rickenbacker dont have that many endorsees,Chris Squire being the most famous one!,not sure Bruce Foxton has a signature model. I reckon this has been pawned and not collected, the cash convertors have become a lot more strict these days, with what they take in.As for the purchase,if id had the money looking in the window at it, id have bought it too, as rare as! so you shouldnt feel too guilty ,keep hold of it , and if you do decide its not for you??????????? -
Good on you. It's a good bass, you'll get a decent return on it if you sit on it and hang on for a while. I had one of the 4 lefties ever made and sold it to a Yes collector about 5 years ago. It didn't sound any different to my 4001v63 though. Ric signature guitars hold their value, and will go for more if you have the tags etc. As I type I am selling a lefty 360/12v64 to a collector Chicago, and that is not even a signature guitar... but all I will say is I will get a good return on it despite selling it for less that what I can get if I flog it on the bay. FYI, there were 1000 4001CS 's made, and 4 were lefty. The most elusive of all signature models, and the one that fetches the best prices (averaging $10K USD) is the Susanna Hoffs model.
MB1. For that sort of money i want Susanna Hoffs with it, for the night at least ......delivered to the door! -
Hey there, everyone! For those of you who haven't seen or heard one, have a look on YouTube or the Fender website for the videos on the Fender VG series strat. It's a tone modeling guitar with an extra Roland digital pickup, capable of different sounds (guitar types), different tunings, etc. All looks pretty amazing... SHALL WE PETITION FENDER TO MAKE US A BASS VERSION!? I for one would love one!
MB1. Not really interested.......if its only available to vegetarians!

MB1. C.T...... Dont hate them to be honest, was at Aintree guitar show over the weekend and the Guitar Amps were Very Good on the Demo. Just feel theyve never really cut it with bass gear, theyve always seemed to be the cheaper end of the Market for bassists.I know guitarists really rate them, but bass gear?never been my cup of meat im afraid!.
Anyone see McFly tonight on the dance show. Nice LED job on the bass boys Ray but mysteriously no lights at all on the Ashdown stack behing him MB1. Youre not supposed to notice this! Your supposed to be so visually blown away by the pretty lights on the stingray that you dont notice the bassist isnt actually plugged in or indeed playing anything on it!.This however does not work with musicians, bassists or anyone over the age of sixteen!. MARTIN SIM....Go and stand in the corner, facing the wall, and no dinner for you laddie!.
So is there a whole band playing behind the stage cloth? I'm intrigued now.
MB1. The Band behind the stage cloth are all over 22 years of age, and are visually unpleasant on the eye ,and somewhat frightening to prepubescent young ladies!...............a bit like Mick Hucknall I think!
You'd want to inspect the condition of the thing, obviously, but it's not as though my I could do any damage that wouldn't be obvious enough to see. Either way, if you like my 1980 JAYDEE supernatural (no idea what this is) when you play it, you had better buy it and stop worrying about how it's been treated in the past. I could have used it as a masturbation receptical for all you know, but at least I cleaned it off before trying to sell it. It still plays the same. MB1. Very few people are ever going to give you large amounts of money for an instrument that looks like youve been hanging pictures with it.If it looks badly damaged, this reflects on previous owners(who probably have been using it as a masturbation receptical?).Something definately tells me you are not the person i would want to buy a second hand headless Status from, with these strange sexual practices?.
basses aren't really that fragile though. Maybe if you're in a horrific car crash your bass with be knackered, but, you've just come out of a near death experience, probably not that bothered about your bass. Even if it was in a hard case it might not have been saved. I've never been able to afford a hardcase for my bass, as i've always had more pressing things to buy. I've never had any problems with my basses, they get thrown around quite a bit in my car, get squashed between amps and stuff. I know this is going to sound horrific to some of you, but there's no damage. Don't be so protective or your bass will never have any balls! MB1. Now tell me friends!.... would you buy a 1980 JAYDEE supernatural ...off this man?.......One Careful Owner.....Plenty of balls!.....Indeed!
Nah...you're all barking mad using a soft case for your bass MB1. +TWELVETY..... Its only a matter of time before it ends in tears!......Id be dubious about.... One carefull owner!,Gig bag included!
