SOLD
Hi, A few weeks back I bought a great little "bitsa" jazz bass built by our own BassBod, however I am finding that my other basses are taking up all my playing time and this has only been played twice since I got it, and its taking up space I need at the moment. Description from the original owner: Jap bits, alder body WD/Gotoh hardware, Kent Armstron p/ups. Currently strung with Labella plastic flats, includes unused Thomann hard case. And some pics: The Plastic flats sound great on this and feel like they will last forever - really good for thumping out those old motown classics or for those chilled out jazz moments. Im asking for what I paid for it - £175 collected from Windsor, berkshire. Will happily meet within a short distance if you are travelling though. PM me! MB1. Minute i noticed the wording on your ad, i started humming "im in pieces, bits and pieces" a 60s hit i believe ,and very annoying! ,any idea who sang it? Many Thanks! Martin.

  7.
I still have the rock and funk episodes of Rockschool on VHS. I'm sure I heard that Henry Thomas did a stint as Shakatak's bassist at one point, but not sure if this is correct. Rockschool also did a tour of live shows and having seen/heard Henry giving it loads on his Westone Thunder III, the decision on what bass I had to have was an easy one. MB1. You didnt go with the Westone then! George Anderson JR was, and still is Shakataks long time bassist and a long time Jaydee user(got together with John Diggins to create the Jaydee studio model the G.A),dont know anything about Henry depping though!

  16. MB1. Apparently.....i am told ,these cabs are worth checking out (from a stockist) and are good value for money, if your buying from gak youll get a guarantee (which you wont get with second hand gear). Try and get into a music shop, and try before you buy!
  17.
+1 for the above. I did this with my last band: we hired an upstairs theatre over a pub and gigged every 4/6 weeks, billing it as a kind of club night. After a few gigs, we started building a following to the night, people brought their friends etc. Still didn't make any money, of course, but it was usually more enjoyable than being 3rd support act on the toilet circuit. This approach may not suit every band though, as you need to have a clearly defined brand/image for the night. Sad conclusion to the tale, though: the keys man and I walked after the band leader walked out of a meeting, only to send a 13-paragraph email two days later saying why he was right about EVERYTHING... Off to audition with a new band tonight...
MB1. The vanity of frontmen eh!....Hope the audition goes well!
  18. MB1. Im looking over a 5 string clover that i overlooked before! Sorry, i'll get my coat!

  20.
FWIW- I shall be ordering a Clover 5 (because I cannot afford a C/S PRS V) in the new year as I need to go lower than E, but cannot be ar5ed with a D-tuner or de-tuning. So the 5th string will be a low B.
MB1. Clover?......I cant believe its not butter!
