OK, so my "big" rig (Trace AH300-12, Trace 2x10 and Trace 1x15) has been in storage recently while I sort out my house purchase, but I got it out yesterday for band practice. Well, the amp and 2x10 anyway. So I get to the rehearsal room early to set up and have a play but notice at any useable level (i.e. above about 1.5) there's a really nasty farty/rattly sound coming out. It lasts about 4 or 5 seconds or so before dying away (if playing a long note). The speaker grille isn't moving at all, and neither are the handles. So I'm gonna take it apart at lunch today to have a peer inside and play with the cones to see if there's anything obvious. What should I be looking/listening out for on the speakers? If it is a blown driver, any suggestions of good replacements (I'll swap 'em both out to keep em matched)? Cheers! Oh, and if this gets moved to Repairs then fair play, I couldn't decide which forum to put it in MB1. Could be Presoulnations Garlic Rice?
I'm looking to invest in some new cabs and I'm trying to decide between a pair of ACME B2s and a BFM Omni15 Tallboy for my main gig rig. (For small gigs I'm looking to get a BFM Omni10.5 Crossfire.) The criteria so far seem to be transportability, price, perceived loudness and evenness of response (including how low the low frequencies go). Any advice on this one? MB1. I do know Coyotes had some issues with this Acme Gear!.................BEEP! BEEP!.

MB1. M***E AND S*****R? I was thinking Master and Servant ala Depeche Mode! dont think youve any chance getting M&S or a new Guncase at Homebase.
Hi Folks, I've been promised a new gig bag for my Lakland for my birthday, but the local shops don't have much choice. Can anyone recommend a shop in a 40 mile radius of gloucester which stocks a decent range of gig bags (and preferably doesn't charge the earth). I been trawling the net for a couple of hours, but haven't really come up with any shops, and I want to 'try before I buy' so don't really want to buy on-line. Also, any thoughts on which gig bags to look at? Ritter, Gator etc? Cheers Martin MB1. Sorry!....Thought you were after the names of dealers in Gloucester??
I'm in a some what of a predicament with gig I'm supposed to be playing tomorrow (sat) night. To cut a long story short, I'm doing some session work for a good friends' country band. I've had about an hour and a half to learn 6 of his original songs with the band up to gigging standard, they're not tricky tunes but I'm quite a way off feeling confident with gigging them. I was supposed to be rehearsing these tunes with him last night but he stitched me up. I got in from work and rushed to get my stuff together and shove food down my throat, tried to phone him and no answer. I tried 3 times and had no luck and he's only just contacted me over 24 hours later, now there's no chance of rehearsing these tunes before the gig because I'll be at work tomorrow. The predicament really is this, I havnt played a gig in nearly a year and I'm dying to play live again. However, I think he needs to be taught a lesson in me not showing up tomorrow and not answering my phone when he calls. He's done this kind of stuff before too, it's not just a one-off. ...and there's also the slightly large issue of me not feeling confident in playing these songs. What would you do? I don't know if I'd be cutting off my nose to spite my face by not showing up. It's not like it's a big opportunity of a gig, it's just that I havnt gigged in ages. I don't know what to do! MB1. I find thats always a great idea, going out with a band youve never rehearsed with ,means youve got the same excuse as them when it all turns to sh*te.............NONE!.
