Most people have had nothing but praise for the Tony Levin 5 active (including bass guitarist magazine). They do look quite well made definately worth a look if only as a cheap back up.I was told the quality of these basses was beginning to worry musicman, the TL5 being the bass in question.

Damn shame you didnt notice the earlier threads before ordering.I can imagine the situation will only get worse as john(napper) no longer works for them either, and he used to do various ordering for them.Just get your money back and go elsewhere, its there loss at the end of the day.

this coming tuesday i am auditioning for a place as the bassist for our school jazz band
i have to pick a piece to play and i wondered what would be a good choice.
do i play a simple bassline that shows my timing but sounds dull on its own
or
do i play an interesting complex bass solo e.g. Stu Hamm's bass solo from san fransisco with steve vai?
Options and opinions please
MB1. Just play that F**K**G BIG FISH! and youll be fine!

Bit before Millertime that one, i know he plays jazz festivals, and chances are you might see him playing in a few bands as he is a prolific studio session bassist as well as a solo artist.Id definately like to see Marcus and his band play wembley somehow i doubt it!

That's 80s Japanese bass erotica alright! Takes me back to watching "Rockschool" with Henry "King" Thumb. I only managed to afford a Thunder 1A in 1984, which I've still got to this day. Sure someone on here will want yours. Good luck & have a Thunderous bump on me.

Henry "king thumb"Thomas used to endorse Westone.......the guitarist was Deidre Cartwright...... but who was the Drummer????
