Good to see you back ARGH I'm mostly a fingers player but I'm learning to use a pick after 29 years of playing, after I made a list last year of my 10 favourite players and realised that 8 were pick players. The Allen Woody Rumblekat does suit a pick I gotta say.
Is this the guy that passed away that used to play for GOVT MULE.

OR More fornication in yer bedroom?. 6.
I remember Tina Weymouth used to play a short-scale Hofner, though I doubt you'll find one of those at a sane price these days. What about the Status KingBass? With the "bendwell" option it's one fret shorter, making it about 32.1" (by my calculations). Mark King is quite a little chap who plays fast, so the short scale works for him.
MB1. +12ty... My Favourite Essex Girl.

 13.
That put me in a bad mood for Christmas. I know he was a bit of a knob, but the music was good.
MB1. Definately not good with the ladies, but responsible for putting some great bass players/musicians on stage.

 15.
Cheers for the heads up. Marvin Gaye I can see being worth listening to, James Brown needs to shut up screeching and sing occasionally apart from that as you say excellent bass stuff, but Jamiroquai? Spare me please, I couldn't stand one track of that mind numbing, soulless, ball less lift music. Each to their own of course, just my humble opinion.
MB1. Doubt James Brown(The godfather of Funk)is gonna be doing much more screeching?
 16.
+1 to the extra long lead. I always do our sound, from the end of the worlds loooooongest lead. I must get a wireless soon !!
MB1. ......OH! that sort of wireless!........ Spinal Tap the aircraft hanger gig?.
 17.
When I was gigging, a long time a go now, I used to keep an extra long lead handy so I could stand out front in the sound check. What used to be slightly alarming though, was how the sound changed when you moved about, and when the bodies started filling the place. That's where an experienced sound engineer comes in. Once it was explained why things were done in a certain way it all made sense. Worth their weight in diamonds. It's about cooperation and diplomacy from both sides.
MB1. +1
 18. MB1. Alas, if you werent talking out of your arse i might be able to hear what your saying!
 19.
Never rely on a guitarist or engineer whos base level of experience comes from the early to mid 70s. or a singer....re:singer that means EVER!
MB1. WHY? Seems The Who have managed nicely!

 22.
Always fingerstyle, I just feel im more in control, i have a big dampening technique goin on in my right hand, whihc ive worked really hard on, so to go to a pick now would be a waste of all them practice sessions refining my technique. Ads p.s, anyone found that some/most fingerstyle only guys are really snobbery to ppl who use a pick?/ i'm not one of em each to their own
MB1. I can play both, but like yourself,i feel more in control with fingerstyle. As for posh?.........i dont think she can sing at all!
