I use 45-100 with 125 B string on my R.H.Jazz ...and a lighter 40-100 with 125 taperwound B on my Yamaha BB 2005 as it has a nice slap tone. Voted for 40-100

My Yamaha a BB2005 ,

I have 2x10's and i must admit it does make me nervous when i do need to stack them end to end,due to lack of space. the cabs are also rounded,reducing the area,not a good design in that respect. I think the 2x12 being deeper and heavier would be better tho'

MM Stingray 20th anniversary 5 string....big sound,big sustain,but also a bit weighty,which is probally because of the mahogany tone block,which i think does make a big difference.

I think ill sell them and buy some more XL's.[/quote]Same for me too! ..i fitted an orange set a couple of weeks ago,to my 5 string jazz and found i did not like the sound or feel of them at all..i have done 2 gigs and 3 rehearsals to give them a chance,but they are coming off and being replaced with my usual elixir nanoweb. i also found them a bit overpowering to look at when playing under lights with this big 5 string band of orange glaring at you.found myself making even more mistakes than normal still its good to try other strings.

I have not played this model bass,but price wise one sold recently on ebay for around £250..

Bass 1 for finger style and slap,but slightly prefered the soloed bridge pup on Bass 2 So Bass 1 would be my choice
