3. I bought this bass of a another Basschatter a couple of months ago,and it is fitted with replacement Nordstrand pups which were supplied from Bass Direct for £200,they give it more top and bottom end, than the stock pups. Its a great bass in excellent condition with just one ding on the bottom edge of the body, weighs just over 9 lbs and comes with original pups, case and truss rod adjuster, and strap locks. Now Traded Cheers Ady

10. I bought this from new around 1990 and have been keeping it for a back-up amp,but i now have 5 amp heads so might as well sell a couple. I made a sturdy ply sleeve for it,with a space to fit a rack mount tuner. I tried it at a rehearsal and it works fine, and has a spare valve included. Now SOLD Cheers Ady
11. in answer to question 3,which sounds best, for me in order it is clip 3 then 2 and 1

15.
I use two on Jazz 5 strings so the J model not the U model. I think they are the same, but the J comes on a J plate. Extremely verstaile and powerful...so much so that most people I know who use them..set the amp for the room and don't touch it thereafter. They then use the onboard pre for all variations. Big bass control but boast only even though the pot is indented, treble with presense push-pull which can cut your head off...there is probably too much there, in reality, and the mid sweep, which is very powerful. Of course, you have volume and pickup select and presense for the passive option which I think is great and you don't lose too much volume in that emergency. Run it at 18v as I believe the 9V version sucks all the battery power if run with the volume fully open.. I haven't changed my batts in my 18v basses for 6 months whereas the 9v hardly lasts 2 weeks..IME. This is some pre amp IMV.
Thanks JTUK,i think i will go for it. and the bass has an 18v pre so will keep it at that, thanks Ady
16. I have recently bought a Fender P5 deluxe that i am very happy with,...but not so much the preamp, so i am thinking of changing it with a John East U-RETRO 01 Deluxe Anyone use one of these, opinions and advise please Thanks Ady
17. Hi,I am looking to sell these excellent cabs due to down sizing my gear Pro series 1x15 cab ,350watts ,8 ohm, weight 64lbs H.18.5"W.25.5"D.18.5"..with Eminence speaker...sell for £140 Pro series 2x10 cab ,350 watts,8 ohm, weight 61lbs H.16" W.25.5" D.18.5"..with Eminence speakers..sell for £140 I bought these cabs from new 3 years ago,and they have been very well looked after,as does any new gear i buy,no tears or damage to the carpet covering.,just very minor knocks on the protective corners. They have never had to work hard as my sound has always been mixed through the P.A. Thanks Ady
18. After stupidly selling my red Fender P5 deluxe last year i have been looking out for a replacement, and finally bought this one last week on the ebay..i took a chance on not seeing or playing it before buying but had a good result, Its just great, looks good, weighs only 9lbs 4ozs..and a big bonus, the neck is slightly slimmer than the last one,and the B string is good. I have used it at one gig and a couple rehearsals and am very pleased with it.
19. Bump for the added pics of the paperwork, and gig bag. Well i have to keep up with the 4 string version
20. A really nice looking bass..i love that big chrome pup
