2. Hi All, I am looking to sell my Trace Elliot T Bass 1996 special edition 5 string in Sea Foam Green. Its the first run of 100 made specially by Status for Trace Elliot..its in near perfect condition, the only thing worth pointing out is a hairline crack in the polyester finish by the battery compartment(not the wood) It has an alder body, and my kitchen scales weigh it at 9lbs 10ozs..the controls are volume, volume, tone, tone.and it has a hum cancelling pickup under the scratchplate. Also has an active/passive switch. It comes with the original gig bag which is in excellent condition also,no tears and the zips work fine, and also the paper work and certificate. This is a really nice bass but i am not so keen on maple boards now. I have not seen this model come up for sale or sold,as to give a comparison price guide since i bought this one last year,so i am asking £675 NOW SOLD I am near Woking if anyone is interested, Thanks Ady
3. This is one bass i have always been meaning to try....i must admit to not being that keen on its shape, but if and when i do try one, if i really like how it sounds...then the shape and how it looks to the audience would be of no concern for me,..they would be so impressed with my playing Duarte's blue one..i would be happy with that..nice
4.
It's USA model,powered with 18V batteries(2x9V).Trade as above+maybe Mesa walkabout head.
PM'D again,my mistake i thought it was the 9v version.
5. Really nice,PM sent
6. They all came with the OHSC and were in really good condition...there has been one for sale on here recently for £900,i am not sure if it sold or not....and i agree with your price, seeing they are well over £2000 new now.Ady
7. I only have one now,but i have bought 4 in the last 3 years paying between £800-£900 for them, which is quite cheap IMO for such a good quality bass.
8. Welcome to the Forum from another Woodbutcher...i take it your a chippy?
9. I quite like that colour and torty combination....pity about the price, and awful case, maybe drop the 1 might help get the bidding started
10. A versatile bass indeed...and I agree its a bargain price,for a bass of this quality.
11. One of my favourites to play was Hey Joe by Hendrix..always went down well
12. The body looks the same, but to me, it looks like the headstock does not have the pointy bit, maybe its a different neck.
13.
And if it sounds like an Alembic and not a jazz bass, quids in!
#1 My thoughts exactly
14. The 5 string..oh my i absolutely want it!!..if only
15.
Maybe change the name of the ad? Just a thought as still misleading
#1 yes i agree, why has it not been changed?
16. Was it originally a 4 string as the split pup only has 4 pairs of pole pieces?
17.
I'm liking the new avatar Ady
You noticed..
18. Hello from Horsell..and welcome to the forum.
19. If its the 1996 Special Edition version,i think this was the first run of the Tbass and was more expensive to buy new than later versions,so IMO possibly worth a bit more
20. I had been playing 4 string basses for 26 years, until i bought my first 5 ,a Warwick thumb with led's,in 1990. The only thing i found to start with was mistaking the B for the E a few times, but that was all...I carried on playing 4/5 stringers for another year, until i found i was using and relying on having the B string a lot more in the band. So since then its only been 5's,i just love them
21.
Fretless five string L or XL series Steinbergers, if that's what it is, make hen's teeth look common as muck. They are very rare beasts and much in demand (despite the narrow sting spacing thanks to five strings on a four string neck). Phil
I tried one at the Bass Centre years ago,and found it nearly unplayable with the narrow string spacing...a four string bass, converted to a five string is exactly what i thought at the time.
22. I have tried Epifani and Markbass cabs with neo's,and i have to agree with you,i found their sound was not for me either
23. I find this buckle rash thing very annoying,as it is obviously avoidable,by putting the buckle onto one side.Mine is always positioned above my left hip. I know this does not help your problem,i would also be gutted if it was one of my basses..hope you can get it sorted
24. I have owned two 5 string Stingrays, and the only thing i found on one was the G string to being set very close to the edge of the neck, and if not careful my finger would slide the string of the edge of the fret..to me thats bad design/ quality control..i did buy it without trying,so now i would always try one first. I did not notice the G string being weaker, but then i did not keep it for long!
