The gold hardware is a nice upgrade, great work.

Nice work on the Epiphone. At first glance it looked like one of the semi-recent Gibsons with the satin finish (yes, I admit, I skipped to the pictures first) I’m also loving the Micro CL. Super cool. Welcome to the party!

Sold Ed my Fender Deluxe Active P Bass. He was in contact the whole way through, and kindly met me halfway for collection/drop-off. One of the good ones - you can deal with confidence, as I surely will again at some point. Enjoy the bass, Ed!

Forget finding who had it and be grateful you’ve got it! Sounds like it’s a perfect fit!

P Bass all the way through, but I’m a P Bass guy. -
That’s lovely. I think there’s something to be said about the chunkier necks being more resonant. I found the same with my new Mike Dirnt P which I believe is a similar profile front to back but skinnier at the nut.

NBD: Fender Roadworn Mike Dirnt Precision Bass
theyellowcar replied to theyellowcar's topic in Bass Guitars
I had the pickup from someone on here and put it in a regular MIM P-bass a long time ago - I remember it being excellent. Given how good this sounds unplugged I don’t expect anything less this time around! -
NBD: Fender Roadworn Mike Dirnt Precision Bass

It may be fancy, but it’s still from Mexico! And yes, it’s pretty heavy. I haven’t weighed it, but I had to swap arms halfway through the walk back from the station. -
I distinctly remember the moment I played one of these in Wunjo in about 2014. I was amp shopping that day, and was extremely sceptical when Laurence handed me the Mike Dirnt Precision - “any amp is going to sound good with something that nice plugged in” I thought. I left with a new Rumble 40, and a nagging sensation that I would never play a neck quite like it again. I actually thought that these were “out of print” but it popped up as available to buy on the Fender website - I had a 10% discount to use as a Fender Play member, and so a browser tab lingered for a few weeks on end. I run a one in one out system, so in anticipation of pulling the trigger I put a bass up for sale (still available I might add!) But this doesn’t end how you think… A cursory search on eBay on Friday morning and I found this bass, for an agreeable price with a seller just a short hop on the train. Result! I picked it up this morning and have only had a couple minutes of unplugged play in between usual weekend stuff, but it is super resonant, and feels like a quality bass. Can’t wait to get it plugged in and hear it roar!

Not sure if this is allowed, Mods please let me know if not. I have something that fits the bill for sale on here

I bought a thing so this is now firmly up for sale. Sensible offers considered. I’m now including a Fender SKB case in the £750 price. And shipping is an option. Something I’ve wanted for a long while has come up, but I run a strict one in one out policy, so feelers for interest in my Deluxe Active Precision from 2016. I’m a little on the fence about this one as it’s a killer bass, so this is firm on price. I am in SE London (SE20) and work in E1. Willing to meet within London or a sensible distance either side (Herts / Kent) Shipping could be an option (let’s talk) If you aren’t familiar, it’s an Active P/J with a Jazz neck. Pretty flat 12” radius. Hi-mass Bridge. About as fancy as you can get out of Mexico aside from the roadworn stuff. It’s the first time Fender added the 18v preamp (3 band) to this model in the Deluxe Series, and features an active/passive toggle which previous models did not. It is literally immaculate having only been played at home. I only have one picture to hand but here are some videos so you can admire the bass, it’s tones and cringe at my sub-par playing.

Wasn’t the Bongo a design collaboration with BMW originally? Might explain the car-like hues.

It’s so bright and I love it!

What an epic story.

The BDI21 is a game changer. I don’t gig but I use it on all my recordings. It should be standard issue 😂

Sounds like you had a great gig. The amp for £40 is bananas!
