    I am largely learning my favourite punk / ska songs to then put on YouTube, so I just tinker with whichever bits and pieces I want to once the bass track is recorded. Basic, but it works for what I need! And to be fair, my interface is 15yrs old, and my Mac is pushing 6 or 7 so a bit of latency is no more than I would expect!

    I don’t have the focusrite, I have a pretty basic old M-Audio interface (M-Audio Fast Track, the original version), and I run bass -> BDI -> interface using the guitar in rather than XLR in. I then have my headphones plugged into direct monitoring on the interface rather than monitoring through GarageBand which always has enough of a lag to mess with my head when I’m playing 😂

    Seconded. That’s the other thing I have in my signal chain when playing at home and it can make a fair bit of difference. It has some great sounds packed in as well.

    Silly question, but could you lower the volume of the other audio sources on your PC so the HB is audible without distortion? I have a very similar setup for most of my playing, but my interface has a blend knob on the headphone out so I can just tweak the balance of my bass and whatever is coming out of my PC to taste.

    I have had my eye on exactly that model since they were announced, entirely out of vanity as I already have two Fender P/J’s, but the white/black/maple combo at that price point is extremely alluring. Great sound test, thanks for posting.

    The 6x10 would’ve been similarly dangerous for me 15 or so years ago. I have 0 use for anything of the kind now, and despite not having plugged into an amp for a couple of years, the 1x15 keeps catching my eye 😆

    Beautiful looking bass, and I similarly see that as character in the wood rather than a blemish.

    Just bought an Ampeg preamp pedal off Gerry. Seamless transaction, easy comms and it arrived within 36hrs of doing the deal. Buy with confidence.

    Lovely! How is the neck profile? In my head these should be slimmer, approaching Jazz territory but somehow I doubt that’s the case

    Fair. I had a “Vintage Modified” P which was from Indonesia, and it was a really decent bass. Sold on to another BC member so hopefully it lives on somewhere!

    Are the newer CV basses still made in China?

    Looks an awful lot like the first bass I ever got my hands on - a “Hondo II” which was black with a maple board and lumbered with a Gibson style bridge. No doubt a copy of a bass like this!

    Can relate to that somewhat. Lockdown has me playing my P/J’s more than anything else (both Jazz necks) but I know if I was playing with a band I’d be picking up something chunkier - either my Hoppus P or the new SUB - because my “job” is different in that setting.
