This bass is not being used enough. I'll hate seeing it go but it needs an owner that will make the most of it and I currently have other priorities. This is a 'modern' 2004 model SS2. Afzelia body, Ovankol in the neck, wenge fb, Mec 3band eq and original Mec pickups, drop D tuner on the E. I have replaced the horrible crappy plastic nut with an 'adjustanut 3' in brass. While I was on the warwick web shop site I thought I'd buy a standard E tuner as well. The E tuner is brand new and unmounted. I like my strings well worn in / pretty dead. The strings on it at the moment are round wounds with plenty of tone in them but not 'zingy'. I will include a set of Thomostik flatwounds as well in the sale. Sale also includes two warwick cleaning cloths, two tins of wax and a nice warwick soft bag. Condition of the bass is mint. I can not find a mark on it. Very well looked after. I have owned and played many Warwick bases in the last 10yrs and this truly is the best warwick has to offer. Even played unplugged, each note can be felt in your body! The body of the bass is super comfortable and the neck is very fast. It's joy to play and tonal variety it as good as it gets. (The more I describe it the less I want to sell it!). This bass will get an inspection and set up for its new owner by my local guitar shop so you can be assured it is a tip top bass. **£1550 is now the asking price.** Collection from Ashton, Bristol preferred. Shipping will be at your cost and has to be tracked and insured. I will pack it extremely well. I will post pictures tonight.
Did They not produce these after the Introduction of the DB751?
Sorry I'm not sure why I had that in my head. I checked back on Scott's messages to me. He bought the amp new in 08' and has been regularly serviced. Thought I'd clear that up. Forum rules observed. Sorry about that.

Decided to sell my Aguilar DB750. :-( Classic car ownership is taking its toll on me and I have too many 'nice things' to enjoy them all! This head needs no introduction. It sounds amazing. Condition is fair. Road warn. Been world toured by it's previous owners Chris Firth from PIL! Regularly maintained by a professional tech and has been tube swapped will all JJs inside. Also included is a NOS Telefunken ecc83 for tube 1 that I just bought from Ambrose thermionics for £70! Asking £850 firm. Collection with cash or bank transfer before collection from Ashton, Bristol. Your courier is also welcome to collect after cleared payment. Thanks for looking, I'll try and get pics up shortly. Pete
I thought he would have used a DB410 with his 750 but he used a GS410. i was surprised, but not shocked as both sets of cabs are amazing!
Molan is right. He has used every cab Aguilar has made by the looks of it. I would too in his position! Someone on here picked up Paul's old GS412 from JK's house, I read a while back! Paul's rig on the live at Abbey Road session is a tasty combination of DB750 DB410+DB210. Sounds very nice (although that may just be DB750 DI into neve desk and all that Abbey Rd exotic kit on the recording) Seen him play a lot of big gigs playing 2xDB750/1 and 2xGS410s. I'm pretty surprised Jamiroquai are doing any 'small' gigs' to warrant the SLs and tone hammers. I suppose he has to be 'seen' using this kit to make sales for aggie. Not knocking that kit. Seen Paul rock a DB750 into Ampeg 810 with Jamiroquai as well. That man is not short of gear!
I could carry 2xDB210's ...or just the DB212.... they both sound great...monster great, IMO... but do I need them all..???
I think there is advantage to your 212 being 8 ohm. You can crank the amp that bit more over the 4ohm option. Also you can simply add another 8ohm 212 if this gig required it. You may even find having that second 212 nearer your ears will bring more perceived top end that you are trying to obtain with the mismatch 210. Just a thought.
I can confirm a recently purchased DB212 paired with a DB750 is really making me rethink my cab options. Cheers Barrie, the 212 is working great.
Which 6x10 do you have JTUK? Dissatisfied with it now? What made you go cab hunting again?

Should be ok depth wise. The head is about an inch deeper than the cab without a rack case. If it does prove a tipping hazard I'll make up a rack trolley to set aside the cab. It will be a suck it and see but most of the current owners of 69ers have their half ton all-valve heads resting comfortably on the cab so should be ok.
-
A little update. Just put my order in at Barefaced for a 69er to rest my db750 on! Glad to be supporting a UK business and the cab just ticks a lot of boxes for me after researching many others. Only a couple of weeks to wait as it was already on the production line all lonely without an owner. Looking forward to testing this beast out!.

Toasted! Bet your neighbours loved you with that rig pounding. Haha. You a rock player? Just trying to get a feel for why you chose this set up and how you found it (apart from the swearing while lugging it about!) I'm sure the NV 610 plays very evenly top to bottom being a sealed cab. How'd it handle boosting the low end on the 750. Did you feel it lacking low end compared to ported? I think with my Stage II I'm going to be looking for a cab solution that is not mid forward and has full bass response to 40hz. Lovely looking cabs those bergs. Thanks for the pic.

Paubass, Must admit the NV range have caught my attention for an audition but they are pretty big lumps. With the recent release of the 115 I hope they bring out an NV 310 and NV 212 to lighten the load and offer more flexibility. Lugging big cabs to and from the van is not a problem. It's stairs that are a PITA! Looking forward to testing the berg cabs and hearing how they sound next to the Aguilars for myself. Good to read other user's input as well though. Obviously lots of us are playing very different styles to each other, different basses, different techniques, different tone goals. Hard to know what suits one player will suit another without knowing which ball park each of us are playing in.
-
Platypus, I'd like to try out the NV line but I suspect much like yourself I will miss the high end response especially after playing EBS non adjustable tweeters for so long! Think I will want extended range down low as well that only a reflex can provide. DB cabs really do look good. I'm sure they sound even better! Heard a Badu concert online where the bassist was playing through a db750 with 2x gs410. Killer tone. Very nice balance from top to bottom. Much of that comes from the very talented player obviously but the sonic signature is certainly there. Yet to get a clear idea of how the db cabs differ. More mid bumped? Not sure that will work with the Warwick mid presence.

Sorry IPhone posting and editing is being a bit twitchy!
Don't worry about the amp mate. All sorted. A Db750 has been purchased! I've not heard great things about the classic line from ebs. Build quality possibly not up to much. The ebs cabs loaded with 10s are pretty low end shy rolling off at 70hz or so. The aggie 10 loaded cabs go down to 40hz. That's going to make a big difference for starters. Def going to check the Aguilar cabs out . . . All of them! I'm glad to be stepping back from EBS and trying something new. EBS make awesome kit in my opinion, I'm just feeling like a change and think Aguilar will suit my needs better.

Cant really help with the amps but i used to use an EBS classic 410 and replaced it with a Aguilar GS410 and the difference was unbelievable.
You could advertise here for a NV cab... there are a few around, as they are big cabs. I don't think the bespoke chassis' are THAT special but I am gagging for a DB610...( they don't bl***** make one ) or maybe I'll bite the bullet and get the DB810...if some came about. Think I might ask Barrie if he knows of one F/S
I'd have to hear one before buying. Nv610 that is. Never played through a sealed cab before. Obviously you loose some perceived volume compared to a reflex design, like the old ampeg fridge. Regarding the 810 is there really that much difference between 2x410 and 810 in terms of performance? 810 is such a big cab to lug!
-
JTUK, I'm gonna have to try out as many cabs as I can before I commit. DBs, GSs and Berg are on the list for sure. Didn't that Berg NV610 get discontinued?? To be honest I'd probably give making one of those NV610 style cabs a go rather than buying one (I'm a joiner by trade). They are very simple designs. 610s in a sealed enclosure sharing the same air space, some decent bracing, wadding and no tweeter or crossover! Can't get much more simple. I'm sure a lot of R&D went into driver selection and enclosure air space though. hmmm. There's so much choice in bass cabs now! 12's have really taken off in a major way since I last bought a rig. Never played through 12s always 10s and on occasion 15s. There is such a thing as too much choice. I think you guys call it GAS!

Well I thought I would just thank you kind people for your input on my amp dilemma. I came very close to buying a mint Gold Anniversary Edition Fafner found while trawling the net. After some sleepless nights and very helpful input from you lot I dropped my money on a 750. Now on to loosing sleep over cabs! If anyone is looking for a mint Limited edition Fafner (Only 50 ever made) get in touch and I will pass the guys info on. A friendly genuine seller and a gorgeous amp. Feel bad for not going through with the purchase. Ahh well. I'm sure someone here will fall in love with it when they see it.

Sandmann, thanks for you input. I tend to agree with you on the Fafner II. Too much going on. I'm never going to use that overdrive channel either. Plus used ones are rare as cats with three ears. If I had the cheddar for a new Fafner II. It would go on the Aguilar 751 with 10 year warranty. . . Takes fish knife to kidney. . .

Molan, Can the 750 not do a moderate volume rehearsal or practice at low volume?? Is it drowning everyone out? I can deal with a headphone amp for personal practice but not up for having two heads long term really. On viewing your gear lineup it looks like you have two of everything!!
