1. Now OPEN to trades, my friends!
2. Yes, the sunburst in the body is a refin, a very good one. Neck and headstock are all original. Don't be afraid of PMing me.
3. On hold.
4. For sale my 1965 Jazz Bass. It was refinished in black a few years ago, but I was told It was originally black. It is a very good refin. Pick guard looks like a recent one. Neck date is august 65, Pots are 34th week 65, so august as well. This is a typical early transition model. Fender was sold to CBS in january '65, so the big changes had not occurred yet. Neck plate serial is L73542, so typically PreCBS. Fingerboard dots are pearloid. The rosewood in the neck is very dark and beautiful. The body contours are deep like only old Fenders have. Superlight at 3,7 Kg and very resonant. All electronics look original and sound strong. The tone of this girl is just classic good-old JazzBass. Comes with original, period-correct no-logo OHSC in OK condition. Also bridge cover, but again I doubt it is from the 60s. 5. For sale my Fender Custom Shop Pino Palladino PBass. Early model, proudly made in 2007. Nothing much to say about this one. It is light (4 kg). Probably the best Precision Bass the Fender Custom Shop has ever produced. Comes with all candy, unopen and unused, and COA. OHSC also in like-new condition. Whole high resolution gallery HERE.
6. Sorry, I have changed my mind. I just can't sell this bass, it is a jewel.
7. Listening to reasonable offers.
8. I REALLY shouldn't sell this bass.
9. Only trades I would consider are early passive us laklands.
10. You are all right. I didn't want to believe the hype about Fullertons, but when I finally got to play them, well... They are among the best instruments Fender has ever produced, in my opinion. The neck dimensions are EXACTLY like my old Fender. And the contours are the only ones similar to the real stuff, very deep. The Pino contours are very rough and thick compared to it.
11. Sorry, not for sale anymore. For sale my Fulleron 62 RI. These are as nice as they say. Great craftmanship, classic tone, amazing feel. I own a PreCBS P and a Pino CS. This is at least as good are those. Actually, the tone of this one comes closer to my 1960 than the Pino. IMHO this is better than any modern CS I have played. By the way, an interesting feature of these Fullerton RI (both Js and Ps) is the slab fingerboard, like the very early 60s "holy grails". This feature is almost unheard of in the recent CS models. This one is super light and a very very early SN (V00...). Body date Jan 83, neck date December 82, so it was born in Christmas 82. The finish shows a very pretty and natural (not reliced) lines. Keep in mind these RIs are now over 30 years old, so "officialy" vintage. Comes with OHSC, which also is a very special one... A Jazz Bass doesn't fit in it! 12. I sold my 2001 Lakland to Carlos. Excellent communication and fast payment. A first class member of the forum, I will deal with him again any day, thanks!
13. Holiday bump and MASSIVE price drop. Get the real deal at Custom Shop price.... This is NUTS.
14. If I'm not wrong, those pus are from 1972. What a nice bass!
15. Someone buy this, for God's sake.
16.
... Why not make it passive? ...
One simple reason, and of course it is a personal choice: I don't like messing up my basses. I could spend 300 EUR and make it passive, but I don't like the idea of taking her guts out, etc. And I have the chance to own other very nice basses that I am happy with. This lady deserves to be played as she is, IMHO. An also, in complete honesty, I am not enough of a good player to fully enjoy and use the richness of this preamp. I get lost with the infinite sound possibilities... I am ok with vol and tone on an old PBass!
17. Great bass by the way. If only I didn't have one of those...
18. It is a shame they change the date in the certificate when you request a new one. How will we be able to tell the age of instruments in the future if they mess up the dates in the COAs?!
19. Just for the record, if this bass was passive, I would NEVER would even think of selling it.
