  1. Hey guys I thought I'd start a conversation about a hilarious guy on YouTube called trever. His channel is called Treverpitts and he attempts to teach stuff he can't actually play, he has about 2500 subscribers and I am still baffled as to why. Anyone got any YouTube bass players they regularly watch that I should check out?

You may have to wait a little while for the right trade to come along. Arguably most people have the modern Fenders that you aren't particularly wanting, so the potential pool of traders, on the gear you are after, is relatively small.
Just a thought, but it may be worth considering something like a late model Fender plus say £450. Then you could move the Fender on probably relatively quickly.
It would probably open a much larger pool to you.
    Good luck,
    Karl.

Cheers Karl, have a good modern Jazz and not really after a P, just open to offers at the minute! Would be nice to hear a few :)

  3. PRICE DROP. Make me an offer! If you're viewing this I gather you know what quality you're looking at :)

Honestly cannot believe no one has snapped this up yet!

Mainly looking for trades, but otherwise £999, or can be negotiated. this is pretty much mint apart from a couple of dings here and there. An absolutely amazing player and hands down the best bass I have ever played. Three piece maple neck through, Alembic adjustable nut, bridge and tuners, ebony fingerboard, mahogany body with Zebrawood top and maple cap underneath, 24 frets. Pickups are original Alembic soaps, not sure on the series. The logo on the pickups is slightly worn yet still visible. Better/more pics available on request.

Looking for old tobacco/sunburst Fender Jazz basses, 60's-78 no reissue offers please! I'm interested in well playing 4 string 24 fretters nice for tapping ;)
Of course other Alembics, Benavente's, Fodera's, Sadowsky's etc will be considered. If you want to offer me a Fodera feel free :P Please no modern Fenders or P basses :) (cover is off in the pics but is included too) comes with custom fitted flight case.
    Cheers folks :)

So I finally got around to watching metallica through the never, an jut wondering what your thoughts were?
Loved the concert side of it, brought back the experience of seeif them live, the story line was a bit bizarre though.
The great thing is that rob featured prominently in the mix throughout, so I finally got to hear the bass line to and justice for all!!!
Only one question.... What's in the bag????

I'm a huge Metallicafan but my thoughts on this couldn't be worse. Glad I watched it free online. If I'd of paid I'd of been absolutely fuming, main points, no story line, stupid how it's basically cutscenes then keeps flicking back to the band. Possibly the worst film I've ever seen. As for the bag I don't even think even Metallica know what's in it. Just an excuse to have a storyline. Maybe they like to give the impression Cliff's ashes are in there or something. Can't ever be entirely sure! The Metallica I knew and loved were really 1981-2001. Not been a fan since James got clean and Rob got the slot. I thought Jason put in a hell of a lot more effort aswell as the perfect person in terms of style/image too.

My favourite bass is my old Aria, new pups and some TLC over the last year or so and she sounds immense. I have always loved the slim neck and now that its got 27 years of wear on it, it feels super slick.

I have a Fender 5 string Jazz that I enjoy playing and experimenting with, but for sheer joy, sounds and playability the old Aria is hard to beat.

I know what you mean mate, I used to have an old Aria Pro II SB R-60 and it was great. But some nonce swapped out the pickup for a fake gibbo style thing that sounded terrible. Build wise I compare them to Alembic to be honest. Top quality basses.

I finally gave in and got a Fodera to see what the fuss was about and I have to admit that as soon as I picked it up I had that pre CBS Fender bond thing. It felt like an old friend. Plays like a demon and sounds amazing.
The build quality is 10/10 as in every aspect is perfect, no minor flaws or blemishes at all (take not Jimmy Coppolo!)
The balance is unreal and the sound is spot on.

Im one of the guys who slated their price tag and status but I have to say the status is deserved. However I still feel they are overpriced. My bass for example retails at about $10,000! I didnt pay near that but I have to say they do deserve to be one of the more expensive basses out there but not twice the price of their nearest rival.

I have serious GAS for one too. Yours looks a beaut. I'm selling/trading my Alembic for this exact urge!

In a parallel universe known as Gumtree! Don't look at Peterbuilt, there are things like Burgundy Mist P's, Sea Foam Jazzes and Jaguars, Pagoda green Cabronita's. :gas: :gas: :gas:

*off to Peterbuilt website. If I see I burgundy Jazz I may just die of GAS, but a YY standard Fodera must come first :D

Well JBF, I'm desperately trying to avoid getting this from Peterbuilt in Holland. Anybody liking custom Fender colours, made for them, really should avoid![/quote]

Desperately is right. That thing is lovely! I could swear I was just talking to you Karl XD
