I hope it's OK to post this here, as well as the Effects for sale section? Please remove if not.... I thought I'd post it here as well, because this preamp is pretty useful for upright too - several BC members have posted that they regularly use one, particularly when needing to double-up on upright plus BG. You can EQ the 2 channels quite differently to suit the sound of both instruments...... I bought this just a few months back on here, and it's great, and works really well, giving you 2 channels which a re separately controlled, along with other features. - However, I have since acquired a Stanley Clarke acoustic 2 channel preamp, which suits my needs even more. So this one is for sale. good used condition, with no velcro on the back, and with box. Not looking to make a profit - I'm selling for what I paid for it (minus maybe a fiver?). Collection from Cardiff is great - but I can post too - which would probably work out between £5 - £10 insured (I'd much prefer to insure). Photos later

P Bass Body *ON HOLD* - *SOLD*

I had a couple of the other China-made CV Precisions (one in Fiesta Red, the other in pale Blue) - both were absolutely stunning basses. I'm told that these 50's shape P basses are too. I really like the colour on these, and was at a festival a few weeks ago, and the bassist in one band was playing one. It sounded great. Can't believe this is still here. If I had a bass sized gap anywhere in the house..... I'd be lusting after this. GLWTS

Hello again Rosie, Yes, I once had Innovation strings on a bass (silver slap, if I recall correctly) and they were easier on the hands than my current strings. There are times when I think I should go back down that route - but they're not always suitable, and I can't imagine taking two differently strung DB's to a gig! lol Upright does seem to get a favourable response from an audience, even when I'm playing it. What always surprises me though, is that I get even more comments, questions and general chat when I play my EUB. Comments like "it sounds amazing" - when I don't actually think it does. Of course, they never sound quite like an acoustic DB to me anyway. I suppose you could say if the audience is happy, then that's fine. EUB's are definitely easier to lug around - though they're not always necessarily lighter than an acoustic DB, they're certainly less bulky. I can sling mine over my shoulder, and carry something in each hand. Mind you, it's heavy on my ageing shoulders. Hi again and welcome from another South Walian BC member

PIckup for a Bouzouki? Any ideas / suggestions welcome
Marc S replied to Marc S's topic in Other Instruments
As it happens, I used to own one of these - which I never used in anger, on my DB. Possibly a tad bulky for my Bouzouki. The more I think about it, the more I'm tempted to just get a stick-on pickup and have a go at wiring in a volume control.... I'll be seeing the guys at Hobgoblin music this weekend - so a chat is in order, I think -
PIckup for a Bouzouki? Any ideas / suggestions welcome

Don't think I've come across Ffion O'Hanlon before @pete.young - nice stuff Thanks for your reply @Rosie C - that Mandocello looks lovely too. It would have been a crime to butcher that rosette. I'm beginning to think that I've no other options but to cut into the body of my Bouzouki, and install something like that Fishman system. I could of course, think about cutting the wire on one of those stick-on pickups, and fit a potentiometer? -

Hope it's OK to list this here, as well as the DB for sale section? I've done so, as these are regarded as good amps for upright. EA 550 watt Micro iAmp head. Yes, it's really tiny & lightweight, and yes, it's an incredible 550w - amazing for its size. Comes with metal case & manual. The case was a makeup box, I think? Great little amps - this one has had some use, though not lots by me. I bought it several years back here on BC. Good working order, with some surface scratches. In all honesty, I find it a little too "clean" or hifi-like when I'm doubling up on Bass guitar as well as upright - so I tend to use my MB Evo1 twin channel head these days. I've tended to take this along as a backup, or use it in folk club jam sessions. No trades - I'm having a clear out. Prefer collection from Cardiff, or nearby - but can post, but I'd prefer to insure it if post is the only option.

Listed here, as these amps are regarded as good for upright bass. EA iAmp Micro head. 550 Watts, which is amazing, given the minute size and featherweight nature of this head. Moreover, it's dual channel, with 2 separate EQs - which you don't see often. Comes with metal case (which I think was a makeup box? Mains lead and manual. I've owned this several years, bought here on BC. Not used it a huge amount lately, as I now use my MB Evo1. Sometimes I just take this as a backup. Great for upright, but I find it's a little too "clean" for situations when I'm doubling up with a P bass. No trades please- I need to thin my collection of "stuff". Prefer collection from Cardiff, or nearby meet-up. Can post, and would prefer to insure that. (Not sure what it would cost - or you could arrange courier). These are now discontinued I believe, and I'm not sure of it's value. I've seen others sell for more, but this has some surface scratches, suggesting fair use... though not by me. Let me know if you think the price is fair.

Squier 2008 Classic Vibe Precision Bass ON HOLD - *SOLD*
Marc S replied to Cosmo Valdemar's topic in Basses For Sale
I can fully understand those second thoughts. I had one of these, and I couldn't believe just how good a bass it was. I kept it over both a really nice 2000's oly white USA P bass, and even a JV Precision - it was that good IMHO, and a rather pretty colour too. Not only that, but the fretboard was a lovely colour, and the neck sublime. I sold mine to reduce the number of basses, keeping my lovely Classic series Fiesta Red P, which is also stunning - but there are times when I miss my early CV Squier, especially this lovely colour. In all honesty, I wish I'd kept it, and you may end up with similar regrets.... Of course, I hope not! Cheers -
Welcome aboard. Sorry I missed your original post. Hope it's going well, and you're enjoying the wonderful world of bass Keep up the practice regime

@ped - I think you'd be the best candidate to make that video

That does look cool. The foldability is rather neat. Burns Bass is always a pleasure to deal with too Happy NBD

I chose "nothing" because I / we don't usually stop on our way home from gigs. However, I usually find I can't sleep as soon as I get home, no matter how late it is .... my post-gig "refreshment" is usually a little whisky (or two), when I get home.
