You could always do the first album that way, and then open up the floor for everyone else's input when you come to write a new set of material - didn't do the Foo Fighters any harm! Like that first sound clip, by the way, it's got a nice groove going on!
Another +1 here Get the songs recorded, and let other prospective musicians know, this is just a demo - the Genesis of ideas and that you very much want their input and ideas, but that's the basis of the sound and vibe you're heading towards In fact, it may be best not to give potential members "whole tracks", but samples, ideas and riffs, or basic structures that capture the feel you're after. Perhaps make these "samples" long-ish, so they can jam along to them, maybe? Anyhow, sounds good, and it sounds as though you know where you want to be I too like the groove of that clip - nice Good luck
Received this from Mark earlier. And a quick doodle with it. Sorry for the sloppy playing. But the bass itself sounds amazing.
Looks amazing! Love the lighter relic Enjoy your Christmas present to yourself Happy NBD too

WITHDRAWN * Seafoam Green/Maple Board P Bass - It's a Keeper!!
It's criminal that this is still here, but looking at Ebay, nothing is selling for sensible money. Everything is going SO very cheap now. Have a bump.
Yes, it seems the marketplace on here is very slow too. I've seen basses here, on ebay and various facebook groups going for really low money. Perhaps it's just that time of year? Anyhow, be patient Mike - this is a lovely looking bass I'm sorely tempted, but I've got gear for sale atm too! Have a free bump, for a great looking bass -
Hi Tobie, Just thought I'd add a recent experience here I'm not a particularly religious sort of person myself - though I respect the rights and thoughts of others who are - whatever religion they may be I play regularly in a local folk club, which is located in the Church hall. Several regular church members attend the folk club It's a real community spirited club, and the hall itself is used for many local community events and functions A few of us from the club have been playing charity events, including a couple of Townswonen's guild fundraisers, and a couple of gigs at a local old-peoples home. The old folks at the home have really loved our visits, and enjoyed what we play for them... However, a church event recently really made me question why I play for free, and whether it is appreciated. Several of the folk club members (2 of whom are regulars at the church, and help out with basic maintenance and laundry etc) had volunteered to play some Christmas carols at a fund raising Christmas Fair, held in the Church hall on arrival, several of the regular church group all but physically accosted us, when my wife & I arrived! They shouted that we were not to get in the way, not to move anything, and told us there was no way we could bring in all these amplifiers & equipment. I only had a tiny, portable bass combo and my bass! They repeatedly and aggressively told us that we were to come and just sing for them, whilst standing outside We couldn't get a word in edgeways, and the more I tried to tell them that we only had 2 guitars anyway, and there was no way they'd hear us and what's more - it was raining heavily! - the louder and more obnoxious they got! I turned away and said "Merry Christmas to you too" and my wife said "Thank you for such a Christian welcome!" Later they complained that we didn't sing for them! This has made me question playing for any such group at all, and generally given me a bad feeling about playing charity events Certainly, I would not play for that particular church group again. And this was the church my parents and most relatives were Christened in, and/or married in. I'm sure this is not the sort of "experience" you were asking for - but I'd say, approach such events with caution As some people just can't understand why you need an amplifier, let alone what a bass is .... or why you may not wish to stand outside in the rain!

For Sale is my rather nice Carvin MB 10 Micro Bass Combo amp 200W 10" driver, this amp will give 250W output when used with additional ext speaker Loads of tonal options & variations, there's also a really good compressor built into this great unit Lovely sound, lots of bottom end for such a small cab. I've used this amp quite a bit, for smaller & medium sized gigs & open mics I bought it to try it with double bass, and it's a nice amp for both DB and BG Bought just over a year ago, from Scooby (one of the mods) on this very forum I'm just asking what I paid for it, or a near enough offer It comes with a padded cover, and is nice & compact & lightweight I'm only selling as I've recently upgraded all my gear, for compact lightweight cabs & head, and recently bought a nice pre-amp to get the sound I want from my DB, therefore this won't be getting used so much.... Would prefer collection, but can meet somewhere, or buyer can sort courier of their choice Will post pics later

Innovation Silver Slaps and Golden Slaps
Marc S replied to Happy Jack's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Innovation silver slaps are great strings. I had them on my last bass. Once I need to replace strings on my current bass, I was hoping to replace with silvers Hope they do continue to make thrm, and that quality & consistency are kept to the current high standard -
Hi, I had a B&H double bass a while ago. It wasn't a 400, but another model The finish was peeling a little on that fingerboard - but I was told it was ebony, and not another wood that had been ebonised The peeling didn't affect playing in any way, and a luthier had a look at it, and said it was fine It just happens through ageing and use, and a re-finish was possible, but most likely wouldn't make any real difference he also said that B&H at that time made beautiful instruments, and they have stood the test of time It was a beautiful bass, which I only sold because I had upgraded. Sounded great, looked lovely I'd say if it's not broken - don't fix it! And as others have said, you're always looking at what else is out there (not restricted to DB by the way!) So just enjoy your B&H - it's becoming quite vintage now

Just ordered one of these as you speak so highly of them FuNkShUi Thanks ever so much for the recommendation. I had to chuck a gigbag recently, as the zip ended up getting stuck all the time So this is a welcome replacement Cheers again

Thinking of selling my Markbass CMD 102 bass combo amp. It's the Italian made version, not the indonesian version, and it's the Mark 11 head. I think I've had it for about 5 years, but I've got 2 rigs, so it's not done every gig with me Mainly just the larger ones.... EDIT: MAY NOW BE TEMPTED TO TRADE FOR BASS HEAD see latest post In overall great condition. It has been gigged, but not excessively, and never really driven hard. On its' own, it's a 300W combo, rated at 8 ohms, but with the addition of a further 8 ohm cab, you get 500W from this amazing combo. Great sound, great condition - though I don't have the cover for it. I'm only selling as I have decided to go down the route of using a smaller head, and separate, lightweight speakers To reduce the size of boxes in my car (it gets a bit full when I'm playing DB as well as Bass guitar - along with an additional cab!) You're of course welcome to come & try the amp. I'm in Cardiff. I'd prefer not to deliver by courier, following previous experiences, and in any case, I'd rather you tried the amp and were happy with it. Alternatively, I can meet somewhere....... It's never let me down, and has an amazing sound, and variety of tones. I particularly like the filters on this amp You can even get a really valve-like sound from them, or more modern tones, depending on your preference It also sounds really good with a DB I may yet decide to keep this amp, as I really do like it. I could just do with freeing up some space I'll take photos later, and post them if anyones interested

Not a blindfold test, but interesting comparison with Squier P's and J's, compared directly with US and Japan Fenders Ignore the overdramatised commentary a few minutes in - and watch out for the edit clips where he switches between basses I think the Squier CV's come out really well in this comparison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6Cd98DH__U
