    I had one of these (and still have the Fiesta Red version). They honestly are awesome quality, and sound & play superbly. The newer Indonesian CV's are great too - but these are even better. There are times I think I should have kept mine.... but I still have too many. A common "problem", I know 😉 I don't know the seller - but I know these basses are superb. GLWTS

    I've not tried one of the new Vintera Roadworn Precisions - but the Classic 50's bass, mentioned above is an absolute cracker of a bass. Also, the earlier China-made CV's are superb. I had one of the Classic 50's P's, and I now own an early CV again (having sold one in the past). As others have said - try one of the Vintera RW's if you can... the suggestion of finding a seller with a good returns policy might be the best way forward for you. But having owned several iterations of Precisions over thr years, my old 50's Classic, and my early CV have been as good as any. I swing slightly more to the CV - a decent 2nd hand one is the best bang for buck IMHO. Oh, and I now wish I hadn't sold my MIM Roadworn P.... but there you go! Lol Good luck with your search, and let us know what you decide.

    These are incredibly lightweight and rather nice basses. Mine is a rather fetching red - but there are times when I wish it was this stunning colour. What a really nice gesture to donate the sale proceeds to a worthy cause - good on you 😀 GLWTS

    Apologies for only contributing to this thread now. There has been the sad passing of many musicians who I admired, or who inspired me over the years. But Danny Thompson's sad passing has been one of the saddest in recent times. As others have said, the Transatlantic Sessions are great, and his playing and tone are just wonderful. I saw him live just twice (with Pentangle) and I wish I'd seen him more. I also would like to have met him. In interviews, he always seemed such a decent, humble and humorous guy. The world is just that little bit less colourful since he has gone, and I know that a huge range of talented musicians who played with him will be feeling the same. R.I.P Danny 😞
