    Hi @dmccombe7 If your cab is a smooth surface, as opposed to the furry kind - you could try to get some self-adhesive velcro strips. These shouldn't "damage" the surface of your cab, and would allow you to position them wherever is best, to attach the MB Keeper. Fortunately for me, my cab is covered in the furry / fuzzy material, so I can position the MB Keeper to suit. As I mentioned above, my Keeper just stays on the cab all the time (meaning I never forget it - cos Doh! I would otherwise. lol)

    I have one, and use it regularly. It is permanently left on one of my cabs, and takes up no space whatsoever. It works really well, and I've never chipped / damaged the edge of a bass, as I make sure the bass sits on its strap button. It has always felt pretty secure, and in fact, it's probably less likely to get knocked over by a "dancing guitarist". As you say, probably best to get just one - to see if it works for you. EDIT: the only drawback for me, is that I'm now doing a lot of gigs with my Acoustic Image Doubleshot cab - which is really small, and cylindrical - so I can't use the Bass Keeper with that cab.

    Wow! Hen's teeth are far more common. Lol. Lovely looking bass. As you say, MIJ instruments always seem top-notch quality. And 32" is an easier shift than 30" if you're used to 34" scale. GLWTS- shouldn't be here long.

    I had one of these, and they are amazing little amps, especially for their size. And the ability to be powered by battery is great. This one looks in mint condition, and that's a great price. GLWTS

    Does indeed sound like a bargain. It's a good job I'm not closer to Bass Direct - or I'd be tempted to pop in, and get it - so I could have one with rounds and one with flats. At £299, I think someone should buy this. You won't look back 😀

    Yes, I realise that @msb I use flats on my other basses. The flats I had on the Dano were in fact used - so they should be at least partly 'broken in". Having gigged it a few times (plus several loud rehearsals) I just felt it sounded better with the rounds - so I'm just going to gig it a couple of times with the rounds again.... just to be sure. Of course, I have already considered getting another Dano - so I can have both string types! Lol 😀 😆 EDIT: I definitely preferred the feel of flats on the bass - but also think it's good to keep playing both flats and rounds.

    @12stringbassist - I see you have a few instruments around you. Must be spoilt for choice. I take my Dano to every gig now. Had a really long double-set gig last Saturday... and they kept wanting more. The result was, that we ended up doing over 2 and a half hours (second set well over 90 mins). Boy was I glad I chose my Dano... for the sake of my left shoulder. As an aside. I fitted the LaBella Low Tension flats a few weeks back, and I really like them. They feel great on the fingers of the right hand. However, I have a feeling I preferred the sound of the rounds this bass came fitted with. So after the gig, I put the rounds back on, and I have to say, this is the one bass I think I prefer it that way. I will reserve my final judgement until I have gigged with the rounds again though - but I honestly think there's a bit more "bite" to the sound

    I recall looking at the costs when they were still in production, and I think the cases were around £1k once you'd added postage and import duty - so they weren't cheap back then. The body size of a 1/2 case is still a fair size - so your bass may still be moving about quite a bit. Let us know how you get on - best of luck with it.

    Hi Lawrie. Shame about the case. It would no doubt be tricky, trying to find another, since the basses were discontinued. I tried a few different strings on mine. I had spirocore Weichs on for a good while. Lately though, I had D'addario Zyex strings on it, and I liked them a lot. The TE cab is really nice. However, since getting the AI Doubleshot, I'm not using the TE cab at all.

    Hi @Burns-bass Glad to hear you finally got a Czech Ease - I know you were after one for a while. Just wondering whether the case you have is repairable? I was thinking maybe fibreglass - to patch the "body" of the case? Many years ago, I used some fibreglass to repair the floor of my very first car -it was bloomin' tough stuff. Of course, it would depend on where the damage is, and the extent...... Best of luck mate. Hope you're well

    I've liked the look of these Classic Vibe P basses, with the maple board & blocks. They're great basses too. If I needed an inexpensive gigging bass, this is what I'd be looking for. A pal of mine has one, and it has replaced his MIJ for most of his pub gigs, and he really rates it. Sadly for me, I'm having to opt for lighter weight, short scales these days. GLWTS

    Trace Elliot Elf 1x10 bass cab. 300w 8ohm. Great condition. £185. Drop, now £175. Further Drop: Now £165 collected BUMP - £155 if collected this weekend. This is too good a cab to be sat unused. These are super compact, portable & Lightweight. (I think around 8kg). Built-in carry handle, and tough, hard-wearing covering. Surprisingly loud for its' size, and sounds great. I now have an Acoustic Image small cab - otherwise I'd keep this. Since acquiring the AI cab, I haven't used this. Prefer collection from North Cardiff (could possibly meet if & when travelling). No trades please

    Drop: £125 plus P&P. Further drop: £110 plus P&P. For sale K&K pickup & preamp. The pickup features a Piezo sensor plus a Microphone. The preamp allows the user to control the level of both piezo & mic separately, to get a perfect balance. The piezo is a great pickup, as you'd expect from K&K. But the added microphone is a real boon, as it helps capture the natural acoustic sound of your upright. Powered by a single PP3 9v battery, The preamp controls allow for fine adjustment of each pickup separately. It's really adjustable and I was always happy with the sound from it. The label on the preamp is a little worn now - but everything works perfectly. I have now sold the bass this was on - so I'm not going to use it.

    Yes, I agree @Paul S - my Dano could do with a forearm contour, but it's not a really sharp edge, at least. Glad you're enjoying your new Dano. As you say, they really do seem to cut through the mix. Perhaps a different sound to my P bass, or my P/J Mustang - but the Dano sits nicely in the mix, and the tone is lovely. I'm gigging mine tonight, for the first time since fitting the LaBella flats - so I'll see if the tone is as good as it is with the round wound strings.

    Wow @msb - the original rounds from '98 or so. It's amazing they've lasted that long! Have you done anything to clean / rejuvenate them? I've never had any strings last that long.

    Just by way of note. I had got used to the roundwound strings on my Dano, and I must admit, i quite liked the sound they produced, along with their fairly low tension. I wanted to try some flats on it, and I spotted a set of La Bella low tension flats on this forum (thanks @Schlippy) They arrived the other day, and I fitted them straight away.... They're higher tension than the rounds originally on the bass, and higher tension than my usual TI flats. I took the bass along to a living room jam last night, and was quite pleased with the tone, through my small practice amp. It definitely had more "thump" and less top end. So quite different from before the string change. I'm taking it to rehearsal with my 5 piece rock covers band tonight, and will be playing through a bigger amp - so I'll be able to make a better assessment of the difference in sound. So far though, so good... but I'm now thinking, this could still be the one bass I may end up preferring with round wounds lol 😆 EDIT: or am I just looking for an excuse to have two Danos... one with rounds, and one with flats?😉

    If that's from 1985, it's in great condition. I'm not particularly a fan, or someone who dislikes Pangborn's - but I quite like the look of that. Is it fairly lightweight, given that it's made of graphite?

    I have heard other say that the truss rod rarely needs adjusting. I tweaked mine slightly a few days after getting it - just to make the action feel better for me. I also adjusted the bridge (ever so slightly) the other day. That was so simple - I just raised one of the screws a tiny amount. I worked, and I couldn't get over how simple that adjustment was. It may have been you @msb who said earlier, that the original bridge with the wooden piece sounds better - I originally thought about upgrading the bridge, but I really like the sound of the bass. It definitely has a slight acoustic "woodiness" to the tone. So I think I'll leave the original bridge where it is. @nilorius I was never a fan, due to not liking the design / shape.... but I am completely sold on the Longhorn now - seeing and hearing one played live, made me a convert - especially as they're so damn light on the shoulder, and so comfortable to play and easy on the left hand. As I've mentioned before, I'm just not playing my beloved Precision now. When I pick it up, I can't believe how heavy it is, and how chunky the neck is. Moreover, the sound of the Dano blows me away every time.
