  1. Are you sure these won't fit your NS WAV? There should be some extended slots, on the back of your bass, to accomodate the extra length of 3/4 scale strings.....
  2. I've PM'ed you Rabbie, with a trade offer - but either way, I'd like to take your last one matey
  3. This time last year, I wasn't playing upright much at all, mostly due to bands folding etc etc. However, in the summer I joined a new band (some old pals I used to dep for years back, actually) And they were keen on me doubling up and switching between BG and DB as much and as often as I want. So I tried an NS Design EUB, and was really impressed. It was the lightest weight, most compact 3/4 upright I'd come across, and I really liked the sound Moreover, I found I could easily get it in a small car, along with a bass guitar and my rig and stands etc. My practice time on upright seems less than ever, and on the rare occasions I get some "quality time" - it almost always seems to be late at night... so the NS is getting used far more than my acoustic upright. With a bit of EQ'ing, I can get a better sound from the NS than any other EUB I've played, apart from maybe the Eminence - but that's not quite the same thing, as it's more of a mini acoustic DB, I suppose Within months, I'd upgraded from a WAV to an NS CR model, with more tonal / EQ options, and haven't looked back. So to the OP (or anyone else tempted by EUB's) I'd recommend trying out an NS Design upright. I'm now switching between BG and upright at gigs, using an A, B, Y switch - something I'd struggled with before, due to big EQ and level differences between instruments I'll always prefer the tone of my acoustic upright, but my EUB is getting far more use. And oddly enough, I get more positive comments and questions from audience members, plus positive comments from fellow band members than I ever did giging my acoustic upright.
  4. Happy New year fellow BC members who are not gigging tonight, but enjoying a wee dram... Or two! :) :) :)

  5. Traded basses with Tom. What a thoroughly decent sort he is too. Very friendly, fair & straightforward. I couldn't imagine a more honest BC member. Just how fellow bassists should be. Great to meet you Tom. Wish we lived closer, so we could meet for a pint now & then
  6. A steal at £120, but an utter bargain at just £100. Fab bass for the money. This should be gone..... Now
  7. Special offer for the new year; 2nd price drop, plus you can have either a Fender red badge shaped hard case, or a G&G vintage Fender case with this - or well padded gig bag if you prefer
  8. Oh wow. I love the look of this bass. The C profile neck makes it all the more appealing to me too. If only I didn't already have way too many basses, and hadn't just got myself a JV P. Daveyboy is a great BC'er to deal with. I bought my Roadworn from him, and wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Buy in confidence folks.... And buy quickly please.... To stop me looking at this lovely bass
  9. Wow! That's a bargain price. These are fabulous basses.
  10. I've decided to withdraw this bass. It's just too nice to sell, and I know I'm never going to see another one.
  11. No, not hating - but attempting to under-value what someone else is selling, in the eyes of a prospective buyer? If you think it's over-priced, you were welcome to PM me, to say so.... At which point, I would challenge you to find one elsewhere for a cheaper price. These were quickly discontinued, because they were so well made. The last oders placed for them were never met .. throughout Europe. Without the aid of a crystal ball, I can't see how you alone are able to predict what it may sell for. One sold on eBay for around £600 a few months back
  12. Surprised this is still here, as there aren't many around. Owners seem to want to hang on to them.... Perhaps it's not a good time to advertise a bass for sale, so close to Christmas?
  13. Back off hold + available again (Facebook buyer didn't show! Sigh) I have just removed the trade option on this bass - so straight sale only now.
  14. I've been there too..... this bass does look lovely. Something about aged white colour body and red tort + rosewood. I've been after a JV lately, but I'm wondering whether to switch my GAS desires to this very bass? Oh what to do? Advice please BC'ers
  15. Glad you're happy with your new bass Jamie
  16. Just to let folk PM'ing me about this bass know..... I have a potential trade for a RW Jazz in progress.... Not gone yet, but if we're both happy, it may well be gone over Xmas
  17. I've used a couple of KiOgon's wiring kits, and they are top quality components which are well put together, and easy to fit to your bass. If you're thinking of getting a wiring kit for your bass - you won't do better and have an easier job of fitting than one of John's looms Buy in complete and utter confidence folks Have a good Christmas John, Nadolig Llawen from Wales
  18. If only I could "find" such things at work! PS Brook_fan..... any hints on Saturday's lottery numbers? lol
  19. Absolute steal for the money! Cracking bass As it's made in Indonesia, I think this is a Vintage Modified (VM) series? The Indonesian made Squiers I've played have all been great quality for the sort of money they sell for And this one is a Christmas present for some lucky BC member - heck it's a Christmas and birthday present all wrapped up in one Don't see many of them around either.....
  20. Not played one of those Ibanez short scales, but they do look pretty good. I've had a couple of Ibanez basses over the years, and played several more. They always seem to be well made instruments. I was just going to suggest a second-hand Squier Short Scale Jaguar (be careful to make sure it's the SS version though - they do a full scale model too) I've seen them go for around £130 - £150 and they're great value for that sort of money Not played a Squier Bronco - but I did consider getting one at one point - because they look quite small and compact, and as they're quite lightweight, it would suit the folk pub-jams I occasionally do Good luck with your purchase
  21. I've heard nothing but good comments about these Matt Freeman sig P basses, and I must admit - I've sometimes thought about getting one to leave at a rehearsal room, and well, just cos they look so damn nice! If it's anything like the Classic Vibe P bass I once had (cos it was made in the same factory) - then it's a great bass for the money GLWTS
  22. Thanks for posting that link dodgnofski
  23. Wow! That's a superb bass for that sort of money if I needed a fretless... This would be mine now. GLWTS Frank
