This Royal Mail strike is really something....
blisters on my fingers replied to lidl e's topic in General Discussion
You maybe are not aware that your postman could well have to take a meal break at a predetermined daily time so that he does not fall foul of driver regulations. His collection time from your business could also be programmed into his daily work schedule, not set by him, but by his management and agreed in your companys contract with Royal Mail. Most businesses do not want collections of mail or parcels at the very last moment of the working day, he could well be trying to "keep the customer satisfied"-- it is so easy to just portray somebody else as a workshy loafer. Isn't it? -

We should all thank Mr TimR for once again succesfully ruining what was a fun thread. Is this thread about the mildly amusing subject of the evils of bass guitar collection? No it isn't.....Not any more .... and who changed that.... It has now become an argument about cars? But that is what our friend does.... spoils stuff...because he can....because we let him... -

Somebody had to spoil a fun thread..... -
Disconnect the tuner and its cables and do as @Downunderwonder and @agedhorseare suggesting. Suspect that once you've done that all will be good. It is difficult to tell from your photos but it looks like the return or output from your tuner is plugged into one half of a stereo return, this is not good, it is tragic!! It also looks like the input to the tuner is connected via the send on the parallel stereo loop, this loop is not designed for this purpose. If that all works...... you can connect the tuner to the tuner output jack with a short jack lead ....this is what the tuner output is designed for. Good luck and let us know how you get on

Maybe you could have proposed your "battery test" on the dud/blown speaker in the first place, rather than make some dubious claims that an out of phase speaker makes a buzz, produces zero sound, and/or "mathematically" drops out the lows. That might have been helpful.... "A blown speaker has a similar effect to one that is miswired, moving opposite to the working one in the lows, and good potential for buzzing too." Interesting that a blown speaker is so similar to a miswired speaker, of course it would move in the opposite direction............it's just physics isn't it?
-
The buzz was described as occuring on the lower notes and not on the higher notes. There is nothing at all mentioned about "trying to get some lows" or anything about turning up. Are you seriously suggesting that one of a pair of speakers wired out of phase produces zero sound ? Really ?
-
The above is the type of response that could well help somebody track down a buzz coming from a speaker cab. I once bought a second hand cab online from a well known bass specialist shop. It buzzed like crazy on the lower notes, turned out their appalling packaging skills were to blame for this. A small piece of expanded foam had got wedged in between the cone and the basket. That was the problem. Cab still going strong no more problems. What is the point in talking in riddles? So I'll ask again... How does swapping polarity stop a speaker cab buzzing?

How would swapping the polarity cure a buzz?

Belated thanks to Paul for the Nux pedal. All good...... pleasure to deal with you. Thanks again

Bought a book from Mick, he's a credit to Basschat and great fun to deal with. Thanks again Mick

Never seen pickups tilted towards the neck or the bridge, so what was your point again? -
So basically they make it up?
