It looks like you apply tape strips with dot codes printed on them to the workpiece. It looks like it uses them to navigate. I think it requires a diagram uploaded to the device, or maybe streamed to it. Extraordinary thing!

Thanks very much for the article quoted above, very useful. I have used Liberon finishing oil extensively, and have learned much along the way. I refinished a Tacoma acoustic guitar with the dreaded finish rash, where the poly coat actually detached from the body. I put the Liberon oil on in about twenty coats, but did not wait long enough between coats. The finish was sticky, and remains so on the neck, even after about three years. I used it to refinish a Jazz Bass neck, applying three very thin coats. It was perfect.

Very clever design indeed! I look forward to seeing the physical prototype.

I did have a go, using Liberon dye, on an old donor Les Paul copy from the eighties. The result was ugly, to my eyes, so I gave up on the idea. I might resurrect it.

I think white spirit has some oil content, while lighter fluid seems to be pure solvent. I generally get better results with lighter fluid.

I just obtained a John East J-Tone, and dropped it into my bitsa Jazz. I think the pickups are Harley Benton’s finest. It sounds and plays absolutely awesome and professional to me. Total cost £230.

Any Tommy Emmanuel gig I have been to has left me slack jawed. I spent may happy hours with Tommy round a kitchen table, when Martin ran the Kirkmichael International Guitar Festival. He is one hell of a guitarist, and very generous with his knowledge.
