  1. Is there room for a long slotted port in the front, below the baffle?
  2. Sounds punchy on all settings. J neck soloed maybe not so much, but all tasty. Good work! Colour me jealous.
  3. Pull yourself together, man! Get an iron, and a sturdy British made paint spatula, and have at that fingerboard. Heat her up and prise her off! Then, in with the new truss rod. Think of the sense of achievement and your modest display of British pluck! Should only take you about a week.
  4. I find having a sub makes all the difference. Without one, I would rather just use headphones. As pointed out above, studio monitors can be brutal, and headphones are a bit more forgiving.
  5. Yamaha MSP5's here. Good monitors, and I use them with a Fluid Audio F8 sub for bass extension.
  6. That looks super nice. Would love to hear some sound clips.
  7. I think the whole thing works very well together! If I saw that in a catalogue or online, I would think it was a production bass.
  8. I know. I’ve picked up my bitsa Jazz again, and I have to say I do like it very much. Looks like a piece of agricultural equipment one day, and a totem of cool the next!
  9. That sounds good to me. I've got a gash Jazz body and a SUB Ray 4 MM pickup, I'm going to try a lash up too.
  10. Bummer. I could find a use for this but too far away.
  11. Something like this pickguard and control plate combo, perhaps?
  12. I think you can only click on your link, and it takes you to a new tab.
  13. Great work! I'm looking forward to sound samples. What switch are you using to go between the Jazz and MM pickups?
  14. Strat knobs, I see. Memories are made of this!
  15. Feckin blimey. I remember those Antigua Fenders, in McCormacks in Glasgow. I had never seen anything like them. Like the monkeys with the monolith in 2001. If you get my drift. Very fine example of a very rare bass. GLWTS.
  16. Friend of mine in Scotland had a John Birch Rickenbacker. It was thin and light, and the neck was very skinny, as I recall. It was astoundingly playable, and cost a fortune.
  17. I have never, ever, spent more than two hundred quid on a bass. Enjoy your bargain gem, Stew.
