  1. PS, may I ask who made the body for you?
  2. Nice. I love the close placement of the pickups. I would also say keep it blonde, per Fleabag, and enough with the black hardware already. You could always go with those wee washer things, and scrub the neck plate. That could look nice. Whatever you do, the force is strong with this one!
  3. Yes, the bass amp becomes just your power amp, and the pedals are the preamp toneshapers.
  4. It’s a rare and expensive feature to do with hidden chambering of the body. Not many people know that.
  5. A wise man! Sadly I fried my Bad Monkey by putting the wrong kind of juice into it. If I was still into guitar I would get another one. In fact, I want to be in a band called the Bad Monkeys. How cool would that be?
  6. I used one of these when I was playing guitar. I clipped the C4 capacitor, which removed most of the Tube Screamer type nasal qualities. Sounded great!
  7. Couldn’t agree more. Great pedal. Buy with confidence.
  8. And and and you can open up a Markbass and fiddle with the send return config. Sounds exactly the same to me.
  9. Wow, nice basses. I wish I could get on with a five string.
  10. Looking at the pictures of the back, I surmise that the crazing is actually in the film itself.
  11. Good example of photo flame there. A word of warning, if you decide to go for a refinish: the flame is printed on a layer of film, which can crack and flake. I’m pretty sure a heat gun would melt it.
  12. I dig him. Check his playing on Theo Katzman’s version of Just The Way You Are.
  13. CMD102p here. Excellent combo. Loud as hell, portable, angles back if needed. I always do that.
  14. I find most commercial modern music insipid and whimsical. Gimme the sixties, seventies and eighties, mostly. My dad hated the stuff I listened to in my teens, which was mostly what we now call rock. I used to play Cream at high volume on my Dansette, drove him mad. Guitar solos! He loved his Glenn Miller and his Slim Whitman and his Karl Denver. But everybody he liked, and that I liked, could really PLAY. So, maybe for me musicianship shows through, and I take comfort in that. (To be clear, I know lots of musicians nowadays can really play. I'm not saying it's only old guys.)
  15. I’ve got TWO now, bwahahaha! Fretted and fretless. See me, I rule, so I do.
