  1. Looks interesting. What PSU did you get to power it?
  2. Check out Cherry Wainer on YouTube, a fun and groovy South African Hammond player, sadly no longer with us.
  3. Hammond organ plus Leslie yes yes yes. The epiphany for me was Beggars Opera, at the Watermill in Paisley, when I heard that combo up close for the first time. I believe I saw God.
  4. Nadja Kossinskaja plays that Piazzolla piece beautifully! Fantastic stuff, thanks for sharing.
  5. Long time acoustic guitar player here. I love Tommy Emmanuel’s playing, and couldn’t get enough of it for a while. I was fortunate enough to spend time with him, when Martin Taylor had his International Guitar Festival in Kirkmichael, Ayrshire. Tommy was BnB’ed annually with my SIL for the festival. I had almost quit playing, but he was so kind and generous with me, showing me stuff. We would sit around the kitchen table and he just downloaded everything for me. I wish I could remember half of it. Got me going again, I can tell you. What a blast to be shown how to do the Chet Atkins boom-chick thing! Happy days, and seminal for a guitar player!
  6. Very nice bass. I’ve got one, done fretless, and it’s great. Buy it, somebody, it’s a good price!
  7. Hairy side out. Oh, no, sorry, that’s fake fur.
  8. I wish my SR500 wasn’t so....brown.
  9. Very nice. Yamaha quality all the way.
  10. Is that a Welsh cake, or a meringue? Naw, yer quite right, it’s a meringue. In a Scottish accent, since we’re doing languages and funny voices.
  11. I only use the Markbass sim on a fretless patch, to boost the level of my Yamaha BBG. It’s amazing how transparent it sounds through my Markbass CMD 102p. No colouration that I can hear, so I have to say it’s got the Markbass sound down.
  12. I think the tuners on those Squiers are poor quality, so I wouldn’t rule out having to replace them. But yes, first thing is to block the trem, and see how the guitar tunes up after that. I personally think the trem/whammy on a Strat, well set up, is delicious and spine tingling. YMMV etc etc.
  13. Oh, that’s lovely. One might even be able to overlook its broken state, having five strings an’ all..
  14. Yep, in my opinion the Fender Twin is the sound of the electric guitar. Full stop. But, god, they are heavy. I think that might give them that thwack. Fab amp.
  15. I’ll send you a bit of rosewood, or a bit of ebony black Rocklite, if you wish. Your grain filler idea is making me nervous, btw.
  16. Somebody buy it, for God’s sake! It’s a bargain. Otherwise I will think I need to have it to turn it into a fretless, and that won’t end well!
