  1. Hey there hepcats Does anyone know how many amps the B3n actually draws? I ask because I have tried various power bricks, isolated and non isolated, in an effort to tame the digital whine it gives off if used with other pedals. Currently I provide it with a separate wall wart, which works well, but means an extra power cable and clutter. I also have a Harley Benton Powerbank, but the Zoom whines like a mofo when powered by it. I am hankering after the T Rex Chameleon advertised on BC, but I am concerned that the individual outputs of 300mA will not be sufficient. Can anyone advise? Al Krow, do you know about this? Any words of wisdom will be much appreciated.
  2. But but but I like the sand dune that changes from day to night. Although I don't have it as my desktop. In any case my Apogee Duet works fine under 10.14.1.
  3. No joy with that then, I assume! Have you tried renewing permissions, or resetting SMC by turning the Mac off, pulling out mains plug, waiting for 10 seconds or other magic interval, replugging and finally switching on?

  5. Check with Roland re Mojave compatibility, or look in App Store updates to see if anything has flagged up re the Roland.
  6. CleanMyMac seems to be kosher. I just downloaded the current version of Reaper, and it recognises my Apogee Duet okay. I am stumped, sorry I can't help. Have you tried Roland?
  7. Me neithers, but if it helps you to diagnose your issue...
  8. Do you have GarageBand installed on your Mac? If so, does the Roland show the same behaviour?
  9. Ah, you’re still living up there! And fae Fife. I’m trying to forget about Paisley myself. Not the toun it once was, sadly. That steel players meet sounds good. But maybe not if they’re all playing at once.. Do you by any chance know Freddy Mail (spelling?), who used to work in McCormacks waay back in the day? He was a fine guitar player who switched to pedal steel. I think he was in a band called Nickelson. I agree about Walter Becker and sticking to bass, his soling in SD got old very quickly. Shame. I'm getting into looping, hence my interest in bass to MIDI. Got a solo gig coming up and I’m nervous about sounding one dimensional using just bass! But guitar sounds so weedy to my ears now. Back to the woodshed!
  10. Future owner must have a big belly...
  11. I’ve just been fiddling with my Joyo Ultimate Drive, trying it as a clean boost, with the gain all the way down. Works fine, cheap as chips.
  12. As a recovering guitarist, I found a graphic EQ useful for increasing level for solos etc. It’s handy to be able to cut certain frequencies in the boosted signal (bass sounds proportionately louder when the signal is boosted). I have a cheapie Behringer EQ pedal which works well enough for this purpose. I imagine others will jump in with their own recommendations.
  13. I’m from Paisley myself, but I’ve lived in England since the early eighties. Saw Steely Dan last year. Very sad after the death of Walter Becker, and a wee bit disappointing. I find them to be something of a tribute band to themselves, they don’t really cut loose. Plus, you can never hear the bass! The Fishman sounds interesting: I’m getting to looping bass, and I’ve got a wee gig coming up soon. I’m investigating ways of getting atmospheric sounds. Do you think it works on bass? I hear you about excessive vibrato: oddly I like it less and less on any instrument these days.
  14. I've got a CMD 102P, which is pretty much all I need, but I think I might be more of a man if i had an extension cab
  15. Are you likely to be in the Cotswolds again anytime soon?
  16. No we don’t! That would be wrong, and who would do such a thing??
