  1. Check the FX loop jumpers inside the amp. They are held in place with a glob of mastic, and I think they can come loose if the have been changed previously from parallel to series. Also, try jumpering the FX loop external sockets, or clean them with switch cleaner.
  2. Very nice looking guitar. I look forward to seeing how you did this. I refinished a Tacoma PK30 with Liberon Finishing Oil, so I’m interested to compare.
  3. D Is he marketing those preamps, or does he have just one? My French is flakey ce matin..
  4. I will watch this fretless stingray build with great interest, when your parts arrive.
  5. Great work! I'm enjoying this thread very much. Not the pain and suffering part, obviously..
  6. I think I recall one of them was an HH.
  7. I had a look at these in GuitarGuitar in Glasgow last week. I didn’t play them, but I picked up each of the three that were on display. They looked absolutely lovely, and the finish on the roasted necks felt great. They varied noticeably in weight, and I was surprised to see a bit of a gap on the horn side of the neck pocket. Without playing them, I liked them very much, but I dunno if I would pay the asking price.
  8. Nifty. That should be nice when fully fettled. Is the Jaydee a 20 or 21 fret (less) neck? I would attempt the same with my sub Ray 4 if I could find a 21 fret fretless neck.
  9. On a recommendation from the wee guy in the bass basement in GuitarGuitar, Dunlop Chrome flats on my fretless. Works good!
  10. I’ve got a Zoom G3, the guitar version. It plays fine with other pedals.
  11. Gawd, that looks exactly like the one I used to have, my first bass. I had a Jazz pickup added and it was defretted in short order. A lovely thing and I do miss it. You are a lucky man!
  12. Well, that’s scrubbed up nicely, and no mistake. Good work!
  13. Well, it’s my Harley Benton you’re talking about, I believe. The best fretless I have personally played was a Roger Giffin Jazz which belongs to Felix Krish. It was well tasty. The HB in no way equals that, but I was totally surprised by how playable it is and how good it sounds. Especially after I lowered the nut slots and set the truss rod for a nice flat board. Loads of mwah. Wilkinson pickups on it. I have gone the active route with my basses now, and I am under pressure to stick to my one in one out policy by my wife, or I would keep it for when a Jaco moment comes over me. A friend has a Vintage Jazz, fretted, and I find the Vintage and the HB comparable in fit and finish. I hope this helps. I’m not advertising, I’m just really pleased with the results I get from a so called budget bass, and I believe others would be pleasantly surprised!
  14. It’s very easy to set up three stomps in a row, which is exactly what I do. I can’t stand tap dancing and would use the B3n if it required me to do so. To access the tuner, one press of the right handle paddle is required. As stated above, I use it with another multi unit set up the same way, three stomps in a row, so I have six effects in a line. One patch cable between them. Simples.
  15. Jeez, I want that, but I don't need it, I've got a sub 4 already. That mint green is well tasty, bro.
  16. Try Liberon finishing oil for the back of the neck. Wipe on a very thin coat, let dry and repeat. Job done. I am sure others will make suggestions about the fingerboard finish.
