  1. Nifty. That should be nice when fully fettled. Is the Jaydee a 20 or 21 fret (less) neck? I would attempt the same with my sub Ray 4 if I could find a 21 fret fretless neck.
  2. On a recommendation from the wee guy in the bass basement in GuitarGuitar, Dunlop Chrome flats on my fretless. Works good!
  3. I’ve got a Zoom G3, the guitar version. It plays fine with other pedals.
  4. Wowser that is a nice thing.
  5. Gawd, that looks exactly like the one I used to have, my first bass. I had a Jazz pickup added and it was defretted in short order. A lovely thing and I do miss it. You are a lucky man!
  6. Lovely indeed. I do like Ibby’s.
  7. Well, that’s scrubbed up nicely, and no mistake. Good work!
  8. Well, it’s my Harley Benton you’re talking about, I believe. The best fretless I have personally played was a Roger Giffin Jazz which belongs to Felix Krish. It was well tasty. The HB in no way equals that, but I was totally surprised by how playable it is and how good it sounds. Especially after I lowered the nut slots and set the truss rod for a nice flat board. Loads of mwah. Wilkinson pickups on it. I have gone the active route with my basses now, and I am under pressure to stick to my one in one out policy by my wife, or I would keep it for when a Jaco moment comes over me. A friend has a Vintage Jazz, fretted, and I find the Vintage and the HB comparable in fit and finish. I hope this helps. I’m not advertising, I’m just really pleased with the results I get from a so called budget bass, and I believe others would be pleasantly surprised!
  9. When I grow up I will have one of these. Oh, yes.
  10. Looks like stack knob to me.
  11. It’s very easy to set up three stomps in a row, which is exactly what I do. I can’t stand tap dancing and would use the B3n if it required me to do so. To access the tuner, one press of the right handle paddle is required. As stated above, I use it with another multi unit set up the same way, three stomps in a row, so I have six effects in a line. One patch cable between them. Simples.
  12. Jeez, I want that, but I don't need it, I've got a sub 4 already. That mint green is well tasty, bro.
  13. Try Liberon finishing oil for the back of the neck. Wipe on a very thin coat, let dry and repeat. Job done. I am sure others will make suggestions about the fingerboard finish.
  14. Good work! Thanks very much. Is it possible the bass was tuned down a semi tone on the rekkid? Would make it lay better.
  15. Plus 1 for Tonelib.
  16. True dat. Also, when I was a student, I LOVED The Yes Album. I thought everything about it was cool. As a design student, I thought the graphics were fab. Later on, when, um, recreational substances took hold, Topographic Oceans was a great way of relaxing. But now....
  17. I even went to see Emerson Lake and Palmer live at Green's Playhouse. WHAT WAS I THINKING???
