  1. I already have a Chowny but I keep coming back to look at this bad boy.
  2. I use this with a MarkBas NY121 cab as required. Loud if necessary, punchy and lightweight rig.
  3. I seem to remember seeing pix of Stanley Clarke playing through a Boogie guitar combo. Keith Richard was also in the photo. Long time ago.
  4. I use mine with active and passive basses. No problems here. I love the WAZA Bass headphones.
  5. Do you have a graphic or parametric equaliser of some kind? You could try sweeping the mid frequencies until you get one that give the desired effect. I notice that at home I cut the lower and upper mids, but on a stage I have to boost mids a little. I do find that too much mids can sound distorted, but I think that is partly to do with my defective hearing.
  6. My Ayrshire granny used to say, if something was lopsided, it was "all to one side like Gourock".
  7. I've got an NYC 121 going spare, if anyone is interested. Great wee cabs.
  8. I keep coming back to look at this. Arthritis is sneaking up on me, and I'm gradually going short scale. Unfortunately, I just paid my tax bill.
  9. Ah, Alan Murphy. We knew the Jazz Sluts guys and used to go and see them at The Oval. I remember him leaving on a bike with his guitar in a bag on his back. Such an unassuming guy.
  10. Just saw this. Can you give me their dimensions, my good man? I may have a couple of holes they can fill. Thank you.
  11. Cor, I fancy this. Even if it does have the non regulation number of strings.
  12. I have replaced the battery in my iPod Classic coupe of years ago. I think I followed the ifixit guides: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod_Classic It is quite a brutal business getting inside an iPod, because the pressed steel back and the aluminium front are very stiff. I used little flat blade screwdrivers, scalpel blades and plectrums to get the blighter open. There are hidden clips inside, and you need to bend the sides of the chrome part out quite far to get at them. I definitely thought I was going to ruin it, but it proved to be very sturdy, and you would never know that I had opened it up. Batteries are cheep on eBay etc, but make sure you get the right one. It's well worth a try if you are a wee bit adventurous.
  13. I had a Boss RC300 for a long time. Old fashioned and bulky, but brilliant in having a pedal per function. Can’t be beat, I venture to suggest.
  14. I’m thinking the main thing to consider is the actual position of the pick-up. Is it an MM style humbucker? If so, it might be useful to see where this type is positioned in other basses.
  15. I’m sure someone somewhere could 3D print you one.
  16. Just received some strings I bought from Brian. Excellent comms, excellent price, swift delivery. Thanks, Brian!
