We have had Evri deliver 5 packages over the last week, problem is they aren`t ours. It`s crap stuff from Temmu. They dump it on the door (it`s a tenement flat) and by the time we get to the door they have legged it. Except for the last one as it was rather a large box and the wife managed to catch him, she gave him some verbal and gave him the parcels back. Some have our address but not our name and others have the wrong name and address. Numpties!

A few weeks back I posted a rambling post about a change of pa for my band which didn`t make much sense to me or those who replied to it . Here is the scenario. AC/DC covers band, lead vocals and 2 backing vocals, loud drummer and 2 Marshall valve amp guitar players. Most times we use supplied pa but we do our own gigs in small/medium pubs, halls etc. At the moment I have 2 x Yamaha DBR 12`s that I have the vocals and a small bit of drum and bass going through. I would like to put more bass and drums through the pa but am reluctant to do this with the current set up. I have seen some bands in my local and they use a sub and it makes a big difference even in a small space. I`m thinking of selling the Yamaha`s and replacing them with a sub and smaller speakers. The issue`s I have are limited storage and transport space and budget, I don`t want to spend thousands on kit I may only use 4 or 5 times a year. I was looking at this set up: RCF 702 AS MK3 sub and Alto TS 408 tops. This all comes in at just over £1200. I will be buying the kit myself so don`t want to go much more than that but may be able to stretch to 10" tops if that would be better. https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/RCF-SUB-702-AS-MK3-12-Active-PA-Subwoofer/5ZG7 https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Alto-Professional-TS408-2000-Watt-Active-PA-Speaker/52X8?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1 Or I have a RCF 715 top that I used to use for a bass amp and I could buy another one of these and stick everything through these but I`m not sure if this is the best option.? I have never used a sub before so have zero experience of a sub plus top set up so any advice would be welcome. Edit Just thought of another option. Keep the Yams and just buy the sub and get the others to take a speaker each?

I`m glad I got my £40 refund from Bax a few weeks back, had to start a paypal claim to get them to pay up. No wonder they didn`t have the item in stock.

As long as you buy a decent pa speaker you will be fine. I used a RCF 715 in a rock band and it was never short of bass or volume.

As Lozz says you can`t buy the 59 pickup in the older Mexican MD but I have always had great sound from Tonerider pickups, not a lot of cash and sound great to me.

I know a rock band who play theatres across the UK who have the keyboards on a backing track and the rest of the band have it in their in ears. They have a keyboard "player" on stage who pretends to play though

I just bought one of these (£40 in Toolstation) and when its folded it takes up very little space and is light as a feather. I used it on Saturday night and will be using it from now on.

I recently ordered a stand from them that I couldn`t get anywhere else, they said that it would be in stock in 11 days. A good while later no sign of it, they ignored my e mails asking when it would be in stock and in the end I opened a case with paypal and got my money back. Never again.

Last weekend I was looking at Richtone music site and came across this US P bass for £899. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/fender-precision-bass-black-with-usa-neck-gig-bag-2nd-hand/ It`s a black P bass but without the string thru body so it isn`t a US body. Did a quick search and it came out as a 3 tone sunburst. I sent them a mail saying it was prob a Mexican body on a US neck. So they checked it out and it was what I thought it was a Mexican body. They said it was part of a collection they got and have edited the description and dropped the price £100. Still no mention of the Mex body and the description still says US P bass. Next one up is this US P for £899. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/fender-american-precision-bass-emg-pickups-3-tone-sunburst-bag-2nd-hand/ If you search the Fender data base it comes up to a US neck not a complete bass. It takes seconds to check this stuff out so this one is a bitsa more than likely from the same collection. The bridge looks like the pre 2008 models? I have nothing against Richtone and have bought stuff from them in the past but at least be honest like Bass Bross and Bass Direct usually are and say it`s a bitsa. Someone could buy this thinking it`s a genuine factory US P bass and be rather miffed down the line when some smarty pants tells them it`s not. We are, quite rightly, quick to call out items that are on sale from the likes of E bay that aren`t what they say they are but when a shop does this when they should know better, it`s rather annoying.

Forgot to leave Stu some feedback. Sold him a pedal a few weeks back and it was painless. A credit to Basschat! Enjoy the pedal.

It has a Gotoh Japan bridge and Schaller Germany tuners, nowt wrong with the originals I just prefer this kit on a Fender, originals not available, recent Ernie Ball Slinkys fitted. Great condition just a few marks on the scratch plate. The bass weighs bang on 4 kg or 8.8 lbs. You can collect the bass from me in Paisley and I will knock off the postage or I will post in the UK.

The granite city? Just round the corner from me! I did play Krakatoa in 2018, handy for boat spotters.

It`s weird but when I`m out gigging or watching a band I can`t recall ever seeing a player using a BB bass. I have one but haven`t gigged it yet as the look doesn`t really suit the band but I might take it along to the next one so that some smart ar*e acdc fan can say to me that Cliff Williams never played a Yamaha.

Here we have a lovely Jaguar short scale bass guitar in very good condition. It`s 30 inch scale makes it comfortable for younger folk, guitar players or players with hand or wrist issues. It has a new set of D`Addario short scale strings fitted. Weight is 8.5 lb`s. These basses are quite hard to find for sale, the PJ pickups make it very versatile and it looks great in this metallic finish. Collection from Paisley only where you are welcome to bring your amp or I can set mine up for you to try it. Not looking for any trades. I have a box that I can post it in but you can arrange this and sort out any form of insurance that you like.
