1. I gigged a VMJ for about a year with no problems what so ever and I liked it and so did the fussy b*strd guitarist. A lot of people change out the pickups but I liked the sound from the Dunc des ones fine. They are perfectly gigable instruments and having owned several US Fenders, for my situation at least, the Squier did the biz and I may get another in the future when the cash is available.
2.
I opened the link and had to retrieve my jaw from the floor - that PB70-US/ASH is gorgeous. It'd go very nicely with my own PB70-US that I have in black.
Gotta agree Dood. This is the bass that prompted me to post the link.
3. Here is a link to the Fender Japan site. Most of it is in Japanese of course but it`s a good look for all you Fender heads out there. http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/pb70-usash.html
4.
That's me
As a persistent Gumtree muso section trawler, I thought I saw your ad looking for a drummer H. Get anyone decent / sane?
5. I wouldn`t worry about it too much. There seems to be a shortage of bass players in the Glasgow area. Unfortunatley, there is also a glut of numpties looking to form bands in the Glasgow area!! Stick an advert in Gumtree and they will come running too you............
I would like this, but would need it posted
Sorry man, pick up drop off only. This is now on hold pending collection. Ta!

I have a Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experiance steering wheel and foot pedal thing that can be used with either a ps3 or a computer. It`s in great condition and the only reason for wanting shot of it is my son got himself a better/more expensive one. It only cost around £30 and is a fairly large box so I don`t really want to go to the bother of posting. You can collect from me or I could possibly drop it off somewhere local. If any of you "boy racers" want it, drop me a pm. ***ON HOLD**
8. Can`t tell you what it is but at that price you seem to have a wee bargain there.
9.
What are QC's?
Queens Counsel. Very highly paid, heavy duty lawyer dudes I think?
10. Good shout. Will be watching that. Is that an Ibby SRX she is playing with some foam dampening at the bridge? Just shows ya what you can do with a "metal" bass

"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!" I should really finish off those lyrics one day. Might make a few bob.
13. That`s a lot of bad luck for the one band. I think I would go for option 3 and see how things turn out with your drummer pal. I would take the time to explain the sitiuation fully to your other band mates (something I imagine you would do anyway) and move on.
14.
Looks like it will be awful to play and sound terrible, are we sure its not a real gibbo
Cruel Pete but it cheered me up!
15. I have just clocked that Guitarguitar have a US special P bass in candy apple red with maple neck with ahardcase, s/h for £549
16.
You should keep a digital recorder with you at all times and record your posts before you forget them. Don't forget to keep it by your bed in case you dream a post during the night!
That happened to me YESTERDAY. I`ll get me dirty mac..........
17.
The band I just left regularly did 3 hour slots. Just think we didn't have the heart to stop and tell people to sod off once we'd got them dancing!
I agree with this. We used to do say 75mins then 20 min break then rock out till we had to stop. So, go on about 9 then play through to 12.30am ish. A good tip is to take along an i pod with some tunes on it so that you can play it before going on and during your break just to keep things moving along. And get a 1x15 or 2x10 which will be more than ample for most pubs.
18. To the OP. I take it you returned the bass? Was it a duffer? http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=px-G15ES2730
19. Any chance of getting on the list somewhere? Ta very much!
20. From around 1985, I always owned decent hi fi separates, Marantz, Rega, Dual, Mission, Yamaha...But I no longer have the space to have a turntable, the vinyl has all but gone and the cassettes are in a shoe box out of harms way. All my music I now play is on a hard drive and played through a small JVC micro component system. In the past the quality of the music was all important but as I stay in a flat and can`t crank up the volume to a decent level, my ears have become accustomed to the inferior sound of the JVC.
21.
Now I'd be interested to hear about the Tbird Classic when you get it. I see GAK are doing them at £320 for the sunburst....
The T bird ain`t gonna happen as the bank manager (or the wife as she is sometimes know) says NO!! I see that the price of the NM has risen to £674. Fender strike again!!
22. Agreed, a very talanted man. I am led to believe he is also a very decent guitar player to boot. His playing is superb on the Cliff and the Shadows dvd. Not that I own a Cliff dvd you understand
23. I will always buy the track or album. I`m not comfortable with the idea of downloading music for free when someone, more than likely people with the same dreams and ambitions that some of us hold dear, has put a lot of time and possibly their money into.
24. About 4 years ago, I picked up a Marshall B25 mark 2 secondhand on Gumtree for 25 quid and it has been really good. Decent enough sound and the tone controls actually work! It gets used every day and even has a headphone output. Of course, now I have said all this, it`s bound to go Pete Tong!!!
