1. I sold a wooden necked Energy about 18 months ago and regretted it right away! It was a really nice bass and as there aren`t a great many of them about, people in other bands used to ask about it and comment on it`s sound. I can only imagine that the graphite necked ones would be better. Worth the swap I would say as I don`t think they will drop in value.

That is a very intresting bass! The body has seen some action over the years and those mods make it......different. How does it sound?
3. Whoopee!! Glad you have found something that you enjoy. Me, I`m still looking.
4. Sounds like a fair deal to me. A 3 hour rehersal costs around £28 a pop up here, so as long as you aren`t charging £600 per gig, you should be quids in!
5. That`s the thing about keyboardist`s. You are looking for the odd intresting noise whilst most of the ones I have met/played with/auditioned either play all over the top of everyone else or sound like Billy Smart`s circus`s organ player. And most of them were twonk headed "musicians."
6. Flippin heck! A couple of years ago I bough the passive one for 50 quid from the local crack converters! Granted it wasn`t in as good a nick as this one and had only 1 pickup. And it was ugly. Some people really are dreamers..........
7. You did the right thing Dave. I was playing in an ac/dc covers band that was started by the "Angus" The guy is a great guitar player but has played in the bedroom to ac/dc records for 20 years and has not got the temprement or the balls to play live. Him and the drummer had a fall out through bloomin Facebook and the drummer departed. It was all so bloomin petty and the band was sounding sh*t hot. After that me, the singer and rhythm guitarist walked. Angus was a bit shocked at that but the guy was a great drummer and perfect for the material. He still has an ad on Gumtree and whilst he is talanted he just ain`t got it for playing live. My motto is if you ain`t enjoying it, it`s time to go!
8. So, you don`t like to stand out in a crowd? Lovely looking bass you have there.
9. Thanks Paul! Have had a decent cash offer but I would prefer a straight swap or bass plus cash my way.
10. I bought this in June from Andertons for an AC/DC tribute band that i had joined as I couldn`t afford a 79 MM and this looks the part for the gig. Unfortunately this project has gone belly up after lots of rehersals and a gig a few weeks ago and this has been sitting there doing nothing. Swaps: A P bass, either a 60`s classic or a HW1 Swaps plus cash my way: Standard P bass, black or white with rosewood neck Squier classic vibe P in fiesta red Squier classic vibe jazz in white Thunderbird Pro Condition wise the bass has one very small ding in the front roughly where your arm would come down over the body but it is very hard to see, a couple of small dings on the back and a mark on the back between the body edge and the battery box. You can see the mark in the photo. The neck and the frets are in exc condition. The bass weighs in at 10lb on the bathroom scales. It will come with the rather nice Sterling gig bag. This bass has a Jazz style neck, a 2 band EQ and a slab body made of ash. Here is a link to the Sterling website. 11. Do you think that is BigRedx in disguise? Knowing his love of Fenders......
12. If you make a mistake do it again the next time round and people will think it`s meant, then say to the guys it was a jazz chord. Always works for me! If you played for 3.5 hours solid, no wonder you were cream crackered. I always find that if I haven`t played a gig for a few weeks, it takes a few songs to get the old digits back up to "gig pace."
13. Looking good Paul! Where did you get it?
14. Teenage kicks? One of the best songs ever. Sex on fire? The chicks love it. Wishing well? Good track but I have never played it live. But then again, I have never had to play all right now either for which I am eternally grateful. That`s the problem being in a covers band. Do you play the same old mince as everyone else and get slagged off / slit your wrists, or play less well know tracks and get no response from the punters?
15. Just found this track and thought I would share it with any Horace fans out there. Nice playing and a wee solo as well. Enjoy. 16. Jan Akkerman - Streetwalker. Flippin fabby doo!
17. I had one a couple of years ago and whilst it was a decent bass with a good range of tones, it just seemed to have a massive body if you know what I mean. And a chunky neck unlike the SR ibby`s but I imagine that would be one of the reasons for some people buying one.
18. Silddx that is sage advice. The next time I ba**s up on stage and get one of THOSE looks form singer boy, I will tell him, take it easy, I`m following my own path to musical enlightment!
19. I had one bass lesson when I had just got the bass and paid the sum of £17 for 1 hour. Really basic stuff but the thing was it was in a dodgy part of town and I was pooping myself walking around the area with a bass, so I never went back and that is why I am the talanted player I am today. Is there a smiley for when you are talking bulls**t?
20. Uke, I have just spotted this and cannot belive it. 300 bucks? Slapbassteve, you are spot on about the decimal point being in the wrong place. And the missing neck screw? That`s not important anyway as there is no tension on the neck is there? Can sniffing nitro paint send you doo wally by any chance?
21. This was on Glasgow Gumtree earlier. A Les Paul standard for £400. Got to be a scam? Well, the guy has added a few additional photo`s and the understatement of the year. Look at the headstock photo`s. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/gibson-standard-2002/109289496 "A few bumps!!!!" He says. It looks like the headstock has had a rather bad break. I know that this can be common with Gibson`s but you usually see them repaired to a high standard whilst this looks like someone has stuck some no more nails in it!
22. Zoom B1 bass pedal. http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/b1
23. I have always wondered why the skyline Laklands were so expensive. The G&L Tributes and the Sterling Ray 34`s are made in Indonesia and the build quality on them is superb. They retail around 575-650 mark and while I haven`t checked out any Lak`s recently, I would not consider buying one as I just don`t see how they can justify the price of these models.
24. That is a shock. I loved his playing on Elton`s hit`s show he did a few years back at Madison square gardens. Even sadder when it seems like it is suicide. Yet another sad loss to the music industry this year and of course, to his family and bandmates.
25. If you can afford to keep the Jazz, keep it. One day you will yearn for that oh so sweet sound that can only be had from a Jazz. I know and have been there many times. At the moment, having sworn never again to purchase another Jazz, a Jap 75 re issue is all I can think about. Damm you GAS!!! Why must you mess with my mind!!
