1. I got this in a trade a couple of weeks ago from Pikeman. It is a brilliant piece of kit in fantastic condition but as I am bandless and in love with my Fender Jazz, I`m offering it for sale for £340 posted or £330 collected. As most of you are aware, the SR series have slim necks, are lightweight and the 500 has Bartolini pickups and active circut. It is fitted with Schaller straplocks and they will stay with the bass. There are no chips or any damage on the bass. If you need shipping, I will place it inside an old padded gig bag and pack it well. Please note the gig bag is intended for protection only although it could be used. Payment by paypal as gift or by cheque. If you are collecting the bass, I will supply a nice shiny Fender gig bag. No trades please. Any questions fire away..... 2. Weren`t the APF the guys who played Gilmours 50th birthday party? Not a bad endorsment. A few years ago I went and seen a Led zep tribute band, a whole lotta led I think, at the Ferry and the same year Page and Plant were touring. Guess which one was better? Yep the tribute band. £33 may seem steep but by all accounts it`s a highly profesional show and it`s not like you are gonna see the pinkies anytime soon. Jez
3. I recently got a SR500 on here and tried a set of Status flats on it and found them too dull. I love the strings on my passive Fenders but didn`t like the sound I was getting from the Ibby. I have put the original Elixars that were on the bass back on but I don`t like them either! I`m gonna try a different brand of roundwounds, mabye Rotosounds. Jez
4. Where is the gig Steven? A Ric replaced by a Mick? Whatever next! Have you any pics or have I missed them? Jez
5. Fantastic palying and what a sound that guy gets. Great clip wot. I think after watching this I will take up the triangle. Jez
6. Look on the (MR) brightside, at least there is no mention of the dredded "all right now." Any and every band that I have beeen intrested in playing with recently has this in their set. Jez
7. Sold Chris a mic and he was a top man to deal with. Do not hesitate to do business with this man! Jez
8. No mic stands Nik. Used the last one as a spear and threw it in the singers direction! Jez
9. Sold Will a korg tuner. He put the money in my account before I had even shipped the pedal! Top guy and no messin. Jez
10. Did a deal for my sans amp with Mark and the guy is a pleasure to deal with. No messing about and good comunication. Ta! Jez
11. Ah it`s the old chicken or egg sitiuation! Get the chicken. (Bass) Jez
12. A couple of weeks ago this was mine. I have an old injury to my pinky and found that my hand was getting very tired whilst playing a gig due the size of the neck but sound wise these things are the biz. As Pikeman said one of these with a Jazz size neck = heaven!! I`m glad that someone is enjoying the olde girl!! Jez
13. Sans amp on hold pending payment. Tuner on hold pending payment. Jez
14. Just tried it out. It engages the effect patch but does not spring back up as normal. Jez
15. Sans amp programable bass driver for sale. This is in great condition except the first footswitch jams down if pressed so I don`t use it. If you do press it down it can be poped up with a screwdriver. It has been like this since I bought it second hand and the other 2 channels work perfectly. I usually wrap a tie wrap round the footswitch so I don`t press it down accidently. Due to this I`m looking for £80 collected or £85 posted. Korg Pitch Black tuner. Excellent condition, just some light scratches from gigging. £35 collected or £38 posted. Not looking for any trades as I need the cash. Jez
16. Wharfdale EVP 12PM powered monitor for sale. I have owned this for 3 years and it has only been used for vocal monitoring. It has a 12inch speaker and horn, can take 3 inputs and has an output to connect another speaker. Rated at 200 watts. A couple of the bits of the carpet covering is slightly worn and the front metal grill has some paint chips. This thing is built like a tank and was used last friday on a gig where it done the biz. Its a great piece of kit that I am only getting shot of as I am bandless at the moment. I am looking for £95 for it and would prefer local collection/meet localish as it weighs 25kg. Any questions fire away. Jez
17. Welcome to the world of the P bass Steven. One of the few Fenders I haven`t owned but have always wanted. I have the Squier version and it`s modded to buggery and I really like it so I imagine the Fender one will be top! Jez Rip the Jaguar
18. Just completed a deal with Mark for a bass body. Good communication and sent the payment rapid. Thanks Jez
19.
Sunburst is the work of devil, every sunburst bass I've ever had has been stripped down and re-painted.
Good on you Wayne, I knew you wouldn`t let us down!! Stick with the Jazz, most people on here have 1 or 2 kicking about and there is a good reason for that. There are too may variables on you tube vids, amp type and settings, pedals and more importantly the players ability or lack of Jez
20. Just did a swap my g&l for his ibby and it was a nice experiance. One phone call and the deal was sorted. This is how it should be. Cheers Steve, I hope you can live with the neck!! Jez
21. Well, I owned a black one, serial number 101. Great bass, fantastic sound just a bit too radical in the styling department for me. A sort of Uber Super Jazz. £400 is a good price. Jez
22. Ibanez make really good basses, in fact one of them is travelling up the m6 with my name on it as we speak. If you have small hands, the neck is ideal and as most of them have an active circut in them, they give you more tonal options. I have owned several Ibbys in the past and they have all been good value for money. Have a look at the Yamaha BB414 (if I remember right). They generally go for around 200 quid on here and they are really tasty, have a narrow neck and a set of P/J pickups. Never heard a bad word about them on here. Re the Jim Decon. I think they are made by the same guys who make the SX range of basses and any I saw for the money they were asking were ok. Jez
