  1. In a previous version of our band, we did use other people to dep but it wasn`t really the same. Not that we do lots of gigs now but if all members can`t make the gig, we don`t do it.
  2. Not a fan at all of the type of music he does but enjoyed watching that.
  3. Award Session, used them for years. Made to measure in a few days from quality components. https://www.award-session.com/cleartone_cables.php
  4. Just bought a bass from Joel. Really nice bass, exactly as described, fast delivery and great communication. What more can you ask for! I would not hesitate to deal with Joel again. Thanks Gerry
  5. Just sold a pedal to Norm, as above a top man to deal with. Thanks!
  6. Aye this, a Zoom pedal or similar will help him on his way down the worm hole.
  7. RE the way UPS pays their drivers. They aren`t paid per parcel as some do, they are actually one of the better companies. One on my pals started in November last year and the salary was £26k rising to £32k after a certain amount of time so not too shabby pay wise. However that does not detract from them being able to do their job correctly. These type of companies pile so much pressure on their drivers to get the job done with little consideration to getting the job properly. If you look on job sites, there are loads of vacancies for this type of role. I hope that the op`s bass turns up safe and sound.
  8. Our band just got a fb message from the above venue. It looks like a fishing message, sent to loads of bands I expect. I think it was previously called Heart Rocks and there seems to be some moaning about cancelled gigs. Anyone familiar with the place?
  9. Ashdown RM 4 X 10 for sale only. Bought last year, the cab is in VGC, just a couple of small marks on the tollex, 21 kg weight so light for a 4 x 10, 600 watts - 4 ohms, custom made cover by Roqsoid that cost £120 on it`s own, castor wheels with locks fitted for moving easily. Collection from Paisley or localish meet up.
  10. I will check the width later but I don`t think it`s that wide. I`m pretty crap at describing neck sizes but it`s similar in feel to a Player P bass I owned. Edit. I think the nut width is 41mm? SOLD
  11. As new 40th anniversary P bass in Dakota red. Almost as new condition, just a slight mark on the pick guard near the neck, see pic 3 just below the screw. Satin finish to the body and the neck, the neck is the best feeling Squier neck I have played and better than some of the Player series I have owned, aged hardware, weight is 3.6 kg or a shade under 8 lb`s. Collection from Paisley or localish meet up. These are still available for £400 so a £80 saving. I have a box if you want it posted but it will be up to you to arrange this.
  12. Had this up before then withdrew it but I`m not likely to be using it anytime soon so up for a bargain price. As new Crown XLi 1500 power amp and Thomann case. Collection or localish meet up preferred. 2 channels, 450 watts at 4ohms, 330 watts at 8ohms, 900 watts bridged. Some stuff from the website: Features include RCA and XLR inputs, user selectable input sensitivity of 0.755V or 1.4V, Speakon® and binding post outputs, stereo/parallel/bridge-mono mode, power/fault/signal presence/clip indicators, forced-air cooling; and protection against shorts, no-load, on/off thumps and radio-frequency interference. Any questions, give me a shout.
  13. The Sadowsky SBP 2 pedal, basically the same pre amp that is in their basses but in a pedal. The ART is used to send a signal to the RCF and the desk and does the job fine.
  14. If I`m going thru the pa and just need some on stage monitoring, Bass - Korg tuner - Sadowsky pre amp - ART tube mic pre - RCF 715. Sometimes I might put in an additional pre amp after the Sadowsky but I don`t really need it. Such a simple set up.
  15. I think that that`s the worst part of being in a covers band, people don`t want to play tunes that they don`t really like instead of songs that the punters love and get you re bookings. For example, my old band had a drummer who wouldn`t play Oasis, just refused point blank. And quite right I hear lots of you say but people love to hear the songs, especially when there is drink involved. It`s all about compromise in a covers band and targeting tunes for your audience. It`s like I would never join a funk/soul band as it`s not my bag. So I agree, it`s bloomin frustrating trying to pick songs. And that`s why I am in a tribute band whose songs I love anyway. No arguments about the material
  16. This was my first dealing with Alain but it seems by the amount of feedback he is a serial offender! Great guy to deal with and he got me to sign his Sklar replica bass which is a cracker. Fame at last! Thanks again
  17. The wife bought me a HB from Thomman for xmas. DHL was doing the delivery and it landed in their Cambuslang depot on the 24th with a delivery to me date of the 28th. 28th - no show, delivery was delayed so would be done next working day 29th - sod all, not even a delivery update 30th - I ended up calling them to be told by the automated service that it was going to be loaded on the van that day. Called up again at 3 pm to get the same message. So by now I know it ain`t happening so on the tracking page I chose the I will collect from their depot section. So all good. As they opened at 8am and the depot is only up the motorway, I get there for just after 8. After 10 mins ringing the bell, a young lady appears and takes my tracking number and goes off to get it. It`s a large box with Thomman on it I explain. About 15 mins later, she comes back unable to locate it. I give her the saga so she decides to try one last time and this time returns with the guitar. It had been put on the van that delivers to my area but luckily she got the guy just before he left the depot. They are a bunch of buffoons who cannot keep up with the amount of work they seem to take on. They are always on the job sites trying to employ more drivers but sod working for them.
  18. It`s a long time since I have owned a Ray but it sounds near enough. But the pickup is in a different place I think and only one thing sounds like a Ray.
  19. I bought this in early November and at the end of the month was told I was being made redundant. Good timing to spend £1200 on a bass Due to being jobless and having 2 other similar humbucker basses, I`m putting this up for sale only. This is made in Germany, it has a 3 band Glockenklang pre amp that can run in passive when the volume knob is pulled out - the tone knob then works in passive mode. Ash body, pao ferro fingerboard, weight is 4.1 kg or 9 lb`s. The bass is in exc condition with just a small mark at the end of the headstock that you can see in the last pic. It comes with the very nice Sandberg bag. I would prefer collection or meet up (I stay just outside Glasgow) but I would be prepared to post in the UK mainland only for an extra £25.
  20. Right, get me the directions to the Toon now!
