  1. In early December, I was in Merchant city music in Glasgow just to get out of the rain. I spotted a 40th in Dakota red, picked it up and plugged it in. First of all it was super light and the neck had a nice satin finish on the back. It was priced at £450 on the tag so I had a look on the phone and it was on their website at £400. When I asked about this, they said they would give me it at the on line price and they didn`t change the tag as they didn`t want to have to re print the tag when the price changed A bit strange but anyway, after getting my head round the fact that I was paying £400 for a Squier, I took it home and it`s a cracking bass. The quality of the fretwork is better than a Player Jazz I owned. Took it down to the studio and even the guitar player liked it with the satin finish and I think it`s the first P bass where I haven`t changed anything on. All in all, very nice.
  2. My lovely Sandberg Central that will sadly be going out the door as soon as a mod sorts out my marketplace sub
  3. Don`t be so damm nosey!! Oh alright I was enquiring about a cab with a view to buying one or maybe two but changed my mind. Nothing exciting.
  4. Change of plan so no longer req.
  5. I wasn`t taking their lack of response personally, I just think that if you ask a question and are looking for help from the community, the least you could do is respond to the answers that were given. Being nice costs nothing.
  6. Just been on the other place and he asked the same question there and got the same responses. At least he had the decency to reply to the answers he was given there, unlike on here.
  7. I think we all like a bargain but there comes a price point when for me it`s just not worth the risk of buying a total lemon. These Glarry`s come into that category for me. At least with a HB you have a better chance of getting something really good and not just for the money.
  8. There is a 4 string for sale on Gumtree for £65, located in Sunny Broxburn if any of you localish guys is interested. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/harley-benton-mb-4-sbk-deluxe-series-bass/1448234185
  9. They are £319 at Andertons, which is shocking as earlier in the year when I bought and returned one they were £220.
  10. I had two of these before. One I sold on here and instantly regretted it so a few months later bought another. Then I returned it to the shop and got my money back as I didn`t really need it. So I found out the other day I`m being made redundant on the 31st of December so happy Christmas! Of course I had to buy one of these amps just to cheer me up. Thanks Stew!
  11. I think the guy in that thread is wrong. As BRX says he used an Ibby and I think he had a Ric as well that he bought but I have never seen him with it. He sold the Ibby to Neil McCormack the writer who he was pals with. He tried to buy it back but NM had butchered it!
  12. I was returning a bass back to a shop and it vanished although Overlands courier had said it was delivered. This went on for a couple of days with Overland dealing with their courier and the shop. They even got the driver to return to the shop and eventually the shop admitted that they had got the bass even though they were adamant for a few days they didn`t. Overland done the chasing and kept me informed with the progress and sorted it out. So although I didn`t use their insurance, they did the leg work and resolved the problem. I have had stuff go missing with UPS and it was a nightmare to get resolved so having someone you can actually speak to is a relief. By the way, I have nowt to do with OE, one of the guys here recommended them to me and I used them lots.
  13. That`s what I have. Great cab and not too big and bulky for a 4 x 10.
  14. If you want insurance that will actually pay out if something goes wrong (some take the money then you find out that they don`t insure musical instruments), then it`s gonna cost. I have used Overland Express on lots of occasions and they are great. You can actually speak to a real person if something does go wrong!
  15. Had this up for sale but I was planning on keeping it but I have another di pedal so back up it goes. As new condition and original box, velcro on the bottom, £83 posted UK mainland.
  16. I bought these from Creeper in March last year. I had the box but it`s gone, no screws or foam with them so £27 delivered to UK.
  17. Got a Squire box, P bass size if anyone needs it. Will keep it for a week and then it`s off to re cycle bin.
  18. In their day, they were an brilliant band. Here is my personal favourite of theirs. RIP Wilko.
  19. Cant be annoyed with moody band mates, it just sucks the life out of it for me.
  20. Much apologies for mis quoting you. I have deleted the quote.
  21. If you reckon they will want you to send it back down to them to do a set up, by the time you do that and pay for the return postage, you would be as well paying for a set up from someone local. Whether you should be doing that in the first place, only you can decide.
  22. This year we got rid of our "Angus" in a acdc band. The guy was just too much work, wanting everything his way, surly always down attitude and he ignored all attempts to contact him. So the rest of the band got together and he got the elbow and now he tells anyone who listens that it`s all our fault. It was quite difficult to replace him but now we have someone who is a super nice guy and it has worked out great. In your situation, for me, his attitude towards the band would be enough to can him and the fact that in this day and age he has no mobile phone, whats that about? I would get together and speak to the rest of the band and if you all feel the same, get shot of him. It might take you some time to find another singer but as my example above, a change can really work out. Life is too short to work with a bell end.
  23. We were doing a charity gig in Ardrossan last Saturday night and as guitar boy had brough his rather fine pa, I decided to make it easy and use my RCF and a couple of pedals. Sounded good and just took 5 mins to set up.
