1. That looks tasty! Like the colour of the body, a very good contrast to the board. Jez
2. Jim Mine`s a bit of a heavy bugger as well but not as heavy as the poxy Jaguar I owned! It`s also quite a nice looking bit of wood for the price. Jez
3.
Here's 'that bass'
Nowt wrong with that lad, a bit of gaffer tape and it`ll be ok! The only one I have seen him play live is his signiture model. Jez
4. Aye, play it note for note. The basslines are a doddle but if the crowd get into it, your havin it large! Jez
5. C`mon dish the dirt! What band are youz paying tribute to? Don`t be shy! Jez
6. In his book White line fever, Lemmy said that his roadie damaged his favourite Rickinbacker bass and although it could be repaired, his roadie went mad, smashed the thing to pieces and was promptly sacked! I`m not sure which one but he said it was his favourite at the time. I don`t think it was his famoue Rickenb*stard. Jez
7. On a sort of similsr vein, who is the guy who plays bass with Robbie Williams? He plays a cracking looking black P bass. Anyone know anything about him? Jez
8. No thanks mate. It`s a sale I`m looking for . Cheers Jez
9. Rodney, you plonker!! Well I`m a plonker. Having owned a thunderbird in the past, I thought I could live with it and gave into GAS and bought a Pro in black. It`s a cracking bass and looks the biz but having gave it a good workout at a rehersal last night, it`s not for me. I just can`t get it to sit comftorably. As much as I want to keep it, I know that it will sit there doing nothing. The bass is as new, not a mark on it. I have fitted a strap button on the back and as anyone with one will tell you, it cures the neckdive. It has a set of Rotosound Jazz flatwounds fitted and I will throw in the oriiginal strings. I got the bass from Thomann and payed £300 for it and the strings cost £27 so I reckon that £240 is a fair price for an as new, only been out to one rehersal bass. It`s collection from Paisley or I could meet you somewhere not too far away. Photo is stock as camera is goosed. Right, I`m away to sit in the corner! Jez
10. Sorry to hear of this HJ. Just shows how fragile this thing called life can be. Jez

Aggghhh!! You mentioned the Ashdown word!! You`ll have all the Ashdown haters on this site (and there`s a few of em!) awakened from their hole in the ground. Good choice man, I`ve had one for about 4 years and they are a decent bit of kit. Agree with you on the octave thing. I`ve punted my Eden and am going back to using my Mag. Jez
14. Our drummer cant keep time to save his life! Sometimes I wonder if it`s me that`s slowing or speeding up but the only virtue I have is good timekeeping. Sometimes he will play a song at the right tempo and the next time he drags it out. Or else he starts a song at one speed and speeds up as the song goes along! Does ma heid right in. If it wasn`t for the fact that he`s a nice guy......But being a nice guy can only work for so long. Jez
15. Eden Nemesis RS210. I paid £630 for it so I`m looing for £380. 320 watts, 20 kg so nice and light. Comes with footswitch, has been gigged but is in good condition. I have used this in all our pub gigs recently and it copes with a loud guitarist and drummer no problem. Here is a link to the website with better pictures and specs. http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/rsseries/rs210.aspx Here is a picture of the actual amp but the pictures on the site are much better! Am only getting shot of it cause I`m skint and have to pay for a Eppy Thunderbird. Collection from Paisley or will meet you somewhere within reason. If you want any more info gies a shout. Cheers Jez On hold
16. I`m not really one for using pedals but I fancy gettin a chorus pedal. The Boss ones are around £65 and the Beheringer £26. I know there will be a difference in quality but as I`m just buying one to try out, is it worth giving the Beheringer a try or are they mince? Cheers Jez
17. Jm. I think your problems are as much to do with who you bought it off. To send a bass out in such a state is bad customer service. Having said that, there seems to be an issue with Squire quality control. Unusual that As I mentioned in an earlier post, I paid around £20 extra to make sure it was a good, the same as I would do with any Fender guitar. I hope that your replacement is a good un! Iconic. If you need a copy of the manual, there are pdf`s on the Fender website. Jez
18. Check the bass guitar section. Self plus Waynepunkdude (we both own em and have modified them) and others have posted there. Good bass. Cheers Jez
19.
Where are you based?
Under a dandelion at the bottom of the garden? Mabye he`s an agent provocatuer from Talkbass. (Excuse dodgy spelling). Jez
20. Hows about a euphonium...... Or mabye not... Jez
21. I use a black Highway 1 as my main bass and I love it. I like the finish and the fact that it will wear quicker was a big factor in buying it. It`s got a baddass that would cost about £60 to buy itself, like the look of the logo and I like the greasebucket tone. It also came in a nice gigbag. More importantly, it kicks a*s in a live situation. At the end of the day you buy the bass that suits you be it usa or mim and as we all know, there are good and bad examples of both. Jez
22.
I don't need it, but I want it. Help.
Isn`t it always the way! Yeah, thats a lovely bass and a cracking price. Yamaha make good gear. Jez
23. Aaaaaggggghhhh!! Gas has struck again!! The shape!!! Neck through!!! Active!!!The pictures!!! Too cool looking!!! Just ordered a black T bird from Thomann. How is the service from them? I tried to order one from GAK as they said that they would match any European price but even though their website said that the black one was in stock, guess what? They sold them today and don`t know when they will be back in. Mmmm. I`ve never dealt with GAK before but does this sound familiar? Anyway, got it for £300 delivered. This will be my 3rd Tbird and I got rid of the other 2 because I couldn`t get used to the playing position but this time I`m gonna move the strap button and buy a long strap and play it down at my knees Pete Way style. Jez
24.
After hearing so much good about these basses I tried one. It was great.Really, really great. Can only imagine how much better they are with the upgrades. Better than the Mexicans I have tried and better than some American Jazzes I have tried. I tried the new Korean Spectors the other day and preferred them over the Euro's so some things are being done well in these factories. My next test will be to see if they out perform the G & L Tribute range. Any body tested them against each other? And do any of you gig the vmj's? T
Yeah, I gigged the VMJ last week. I usually use P basses but tried it out in the first half. Only thing the guitarist said was it wasn`t black to match his Les Paul! It sounded ok but I think when I have the cash I will get a set of wizzards. But it is gigable with stock pickups. Jez
25.
What naughty boys you are.... adding Fender Decals to your Squiers!
Nah no me guv! I can honestly tell you that I didn`t sand off the Squire log on the front and the serial number and made in Indonesia on the back. Nor did I swap the Squire neck plate for a plain one. Yours truly, Pinochio Ps anyone looking to buy a cheap 75 reissue? Jez
