Hey mate. I had a black one and they are great Jazz basses and not just for the money. The neck on mine was nice, a few sharpish edges that was easily sorted and the red looks exc.
-
If you are going to maybe be gigging in the future, a class D 500 watt amp would be a good bet. Add a couple of cab`s and you are sorted for virtually any gig.

Is a new mass-produced bass ever worth more than £1500
jezzaboy replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
The world has gone mad. £3k for a Musicman, £1800 for a P bass and slightly off topic, Mexican Fender Nate Mendel P £1300, Squire £400 + and even a Harley Benton at £400+. Bloomin madness!! -
Another new wacky EBMM Joe Dart short scale bass ...
jezzaboy replied to Adee's topic in Bass Guitars
I don`t get the Joe Dart deal but being an old fart who thinks a G&L is exotic, I guess these basses are not meant for me. -
If the Markbass has a effects return input, you could plug a eq pedal into it and this bypasses the amps tone shaping controls and just uses the amps power section and master volume. Just an option. Second hand, class a/b amps can be had cheap as they are heavy and large or there are lots of class D power amps. I would look for one in the 500 watt range.

And Andertons have dropped the price on these. Damm you redundancy!!

Royal Mail is away to pot at the moment. Sent a pedal first class signed for, they aim to deliver next working day and it took 13 days to reach the buyer.
-
Just think of the other poor sod with 2 right sandals! Back on topic. I very much doubt Andertons will have opened the box to check the amp, I just don`t think that big box shifters do this. Unless it was out on the shop floor, you might think that they would have tested it before sending it out.

How about this for a deal. The Bugera head advertised on here plus the Ashdown 4 x 10 and a high quality Award Session speakon cable, collected from Paisley or local meet up for £300!! That`s a 700 watt head, 4 ohms 600 watt lightweight cab, a set up that will handle any gig which would cost £800 if you were to buy it all new. Got to be worth a drive to Bonnie Scotland

Harley Benton JB-62CC BK for sale only. Bought this recently but need to slim down the flock so as I usually do after buying a Jazz type bass, this is now for sale only. This is in exc condition, just a small nick on the end of the headstock. I have replaced the bridge and tuners which cost £60 and are an improvement on the original parts. The neck is caramelized Canadian hard rock maple and the body is poplar, DAddario EXL165 .045 - .105 strings and the rest is usual Jazz bass. The bass weighs 4.4 kg or 9.7 lb`s which is usual for HB Jazz basses and lighter than the ones with the maple necks which are usually around 5 kg. The bass sounds great and not just for the price. Collection or local meet up.

Bought this in the great G4M blow out at the back end of last year. I have used it in the studio a couple of times but for gigging I have an Ashdown so this isn`t going to be used. Really good condition, plenty of info and love on here for these. Looking for £170 posted UK mainland only or if you can collect/ meet up local to Paisley, I will knock off the postage. Ta

There`s a BB 714 BS in Bass bros for £549. Just sayin...
-
Yeah, it would do the job fine. I stick a Sans Amp into it and the built in Firphase system takes care of everything else, there is only a line/mic setting, a boost/flat option and a volume control. To be honest it`s only problem is it`s a bit ugly imo. I prefer the looks of the Yamaha DR but that`s just me being picky. I bought the RCF as they get a decent write up and are a cheaper alternative to the QSC`s.
-
I use an RCF 715 mark 4. I have used it for monitoring on a large stage and use it in small pub gigs as my main bass amp. On these pub gigs, it keeps up with 2 Marshalls and a loud drummer. Great bit of quality kit.

Sharing equipment? This is how some use their amps

I used Pirate studio in Glasgow once. Never again. It`s just a place to go with your mate`s, get stoned out of yer brain and crank up some tunes. Or maybe that`s just Glasgow! -
