Definitely an upgrade but you would really need to try a 300 to see if you think it`s better. I have owned a couple of 300`s over the years and they are a good budget bass with a good tonal palate due to the pickup options.

That Johnny Dibble guy on YT bought one of those and it was the same. If you are going to do that finish, at least pick some nice wood. And they ain`t exactly cheap.

I sold bought a M version earlier this year and sold it as there was no band on the horizon. Had some spare cash so for £229 I bought another one. As KT says, ignore the silly watts, it`s a great piece of kit end of. Lots of love on here for them, try one and you may be surprised.

It seems like you and the other members are looking for different things from a band. This very rarely ends well so try and find people that have the same goals as yourself and you will be happier.

As new Crown power amp and case. I bought this as I was planning to go with a pre and power amp set up but have went back to using a bass amp. The amp is as new, only used a couple of times in the house. The case was bought at the same time and apart from a Rush sticker and a mark on the front where there was a product sticker it too is as new. The combined weight is 17 kg so collection from me in Paisley or localish meet up please and I`m not looking for trades thanks. Specs below: 2x 450 Watt/4 Ohm 2x 330 Watt/8 Ohm 900 Watt/8 Ohm bridge mono Signal to noise ratio > 100 dB Damping factor > 200 XLR/RCA input Speaker Twist and binding post outputs Turn-on delay Protection against shorts 19", 2 U Installation depth: 31.5 cm Weight: 12.7 kg

Roqsolid cabinet covers - pictures / advice please
jezzaboy replied to Nickthebass's topic in Amps and Cabs
No. They said I wouldn`t need it on a large cab. The fit is so good that the cover stays on itself but is still easy to remove. Mine has the inner sleeve that you can slide something into such as a piece of heavy duty cardboard or similar for extra protection due to having only a cloth grill. One of the guys recommend it and it`s only a few extra quid. -
Roqsolid cabinet covers - pictures / advice please
jezzaboy replied to Nickthebass's topic in Amps and Cabs
I recently got a cover for my Ashdown 4 x 10 from them and they are a nice piece of kit. Size was perfect thanks to @Lozz196 having placed an order with them before for the same cab. It took 4 weeks for the order to be made but it`s worth the wait. A couple of other folks mentioned Hotcovers based in sunny Carluke as well. -

Glad you are happy with it Davie. Glad to see that your plan to cut down on the amount of basses you own is going well!

We tend to do the same thing, taking our own amps down to the studio. No point in having them sitting there doing nowt and using the, sometimes crap, studio gear.

Buying New Fenders In 2022 - Where & How To Try Them?
jezzaboy replied to BenTunnicliffe's topic in Bass Guitars
At the moment due to supply issues, there seems to be a very limited stock of Fender models so the chances of trying a few examples of the same bass might be limited. I have owned a Player Jazz and P and they were both really good but the Mexican Vintera models were a step above but they are getting pricey. I don`t know if you are in a position to buy used from here but a US Standard from 2008 ish onwards from a trusted seller on here would be my choice. For £900 to £1000 you can get a nice US model and if you feel like moving it on in the future, you won`t lose anything. Re the G&L models. If you look on Talkbass they are getting a bad rep for their quality control at the moment but if you get a good one, they are superb. -
After a brief flirtation with a pre/power amp set up, I recently picked up these. Cab is a RM 414 and the head is a MAG 400 which is a MAG/ABM mash up according to the seller. The head is in great nick for something 15 to 20 years old.

The Wal that’s in the Band Aid video… up for sale…
jezzaboy replied to TrevorR's topic in Bass Guitars
It seems that Francis Rossi is spending most of his time next year doing a spoken word/question and answer tour so maybe they are cutting back on the quo gigs? Lets face it, the last couple of years haven`t been the best money wise for pro musicians so maybe he needs the cash. -
Ampeg SCR DI in good condition, just a few small marks on the front. Bought from here as I was trying to go with a power amp and pre set up but am going back to a bass amp. Great piece of kit with di, headphone input and line in and Scrambler overdrive section. No box as it didn`t come with one but will be well wrapped. £95 posted to mainland UK.

Harley Benton Jazz for sale only. In really good condition, sorry for the dust in the photo`s, couldn`t get rid of it and being black, it shows up everything. Totally stock except for a new set of Fender rounds. It sounds really good and not just for the money, better than some Squiers I have owned costing twice as much. These have a rep for being heavy and this is no exception weighing in at 5.2 kg or 11.5 lb`s. It`s a lot of bass for 80 quid. Collection from me in Paisley or local meet up. I will not post so please don`t ask.
