Same here. As well as owning all the pa, I seem to be the only one who carries any spares. It does get on my wick sometimes when I`m trying to get the pa up and running and the 2 guitarist`s are faffing about getting their "tone" sorted instead of helping with the set up. But maybe they are better out of it as they would knacker the gear due to not knowing single thing about it.

It does work well for bass but the only thing I would say is if you intend to use it to replace your amp on occasion, try and buy the best one you can afford. RCF, QSC and Yamaha are all good. I used a 15 inch RCF as I play in a rock band but I wouldn`t go any smaller than a 12 inch active speaker.

For sale only a as new Classic Vibe Jazz. It is a ltd edition model and is a higher spec than the usual CV. It features a bound neck, Kluson type machine heads, bone nut, gloss finish neck, narrow tall frets, painted headstock, full size pots, 4 ply scratch plate and 4 saddle vintage style bridge. The laurel board is nice and dark and could pass for rosewood. It weighs in at 10 lb`s so not the lightest. The white is not as bright as it appears in the photo`s.

My main rig for the last few years has been an RCF 715 with various pre amps going into it but recently I bought a s/h Rumble 500. I had one a few years back and sold it but I used it on our last gig and it sounded great, filled the room easily without going through the pa so I will use this as my go to for a while.

I have gigged a SBMM Sub Ray for the last few years and they are great basses. I have stuck a EMG pickup in it and it sounds fine. Put it this way, I bought a 3 band Japanese Stingray that was almost 3 times the price of the Sub but I like the Sub more so the Jap one went.

We played a pub in Glasgow city centre on Sat and they want 3 x 45 mins sets. Personally I would rather do 2 x 1 hour and a bit as it easier to keep the punters on side.

There`s a nice BB 404 second hand in Richtone for £149. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/yamaha-bb-404-bass-wine-red-2nd-hand/

This exactly. If you want to be in a covers band that actually does gigs (some like the idea but end up being a rehearsal band) and gets asked back then you have to compromise over song choices. I was in a band and a guitarist left with the severe hump as we wouldn`t do a version of One by U2 as it died on it`s derriere every time we played it. Likewise I didn`t join a band after the drummer said that he hated Oasis and refused to play any of their songs. It`s the entertainment business and if you want to make a go of it, give your audience what it wants to hear not what you like.

So I was tuning up my BB 1100 the other day and noticed that the bottom piece of the peg seems to have separated from the main part. I have owned a few older BB`s and haven`t seen this. As I know that these can be hard to get, does anyone have any ideas?

Oooh, rolled fingerboard edges, which you can have on a Sire P bass for less than half the price and the return of rosewood but apart from that not much difference from the old models. And £839?

Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.

As I told Dave a few weeks back, I played with the Led Zep cello band around 2019. They are very good and it`s something different but it took them bloomin ages to soundcheck! -
When my band needed a pa due to guitar boy legging it along with his pa, I mentioned it to the band that we could all chip in for a new one. Cue tumbleweed rolling across the desert. I managed to get the cash together to buy a set up and so I own the lot, if it all ends at least I won`t have the problems that the op has had. It can be such a minefield regarding who owns what and how to divvy it up if it folds so I`m glad that you managed to get it resolved.

Nah don`t worry, Scott is good!

Just waiting for the price increase which will no doubt arrive along with an "improved design"

So some poor sod has currently bid £480 on a second hand Sterling SUB worth about £240?

Powered bass cab / active bass cab for use with a Kemper

If you need a powered speaker that will cover as a your backline in a decent sized pub without going through the pa, get a RCF 715 or similar. I have been using one for a while in a loud rock band with a loud drummer and 2 Marshall valve amps and it does the job easily. The beauty of the RCF is you just plug in your choice of pre amp and the built in FIRPHASE tech does the rest. I bought a Ashdown ABM 500 1 x 15 combo a few months back for sentimental reasons and it was heavier and no where near as loud as the RCF so the Ashdown is now gone. I would recommend that you buy a decent make such as RCF, Yamaha, QSC etc. -
Nah your right, that is pug ugly.

As long as you are using the pa to do the main sound out front and are using the Headrush as a monitor, it will be fine. I haven`t used the Boss or Zoom but I imagine it will do the job. I think it is/was @gafbass02 that used a similar set up? Could be wrong though.

Bought a P bass from Dave, had a good chat with him about all things bass related and got a crackin bass for a good price. Top man!
